We had a wonderful time at this year’s company picnic, enjoying a beautiful California summer evening surrounded by a flowing creek and stunning views of the Santa Cruz Mountains. We shared delicious BBQ bites, indulged in classic s’mores, and participated in fun activities with each other and our families. It was the perfect setting to unwind, bond with teammates, and reflect on our shared goals. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this summer celebration so special! #AllayTherapeutics #Biotech #TeamOffsite #TeamBonding

As the harvesting season wraps up, a crucial phase for agricultural professionals begins: ensuring that plants receive the necessary nutrients to maximize yields in the next growing cycle. This is especially critical for perennial crops such as fruit trees, which enter a recovery phase post-harvest to prepare for the next fruiting season. Providing a balanced mix of nutrients during this period is vital for the health and productivity of the plants. The Importance of Post-Harvest Nutrition Post-harvest, plants often face a depletion of energy reserves, impacting their ability to photosynthesize due to reduced leaf area and the stress from fruiting. A targeted foliar application, such as Asilee and nhance Foliar from Organix Ltd, can quickly replenish essential nutrients. This not only promotes vigorous leaf and shoot growth but also lays a strong foundation for the upcoming flowering and fruiting season. Role of Communications Officers Communications officers play a critical role in bridging information gaps between service providers and consumers. They are pivotal in educating the agricultural community about the benefits of post-harvest nutrient management. Effective communication helps foster a more informed and productive agricultural sector by illustrating how these practices contribute to sustainable farming and improved yields. Effective Communication Channels Choosing the right communication medium is essential for ensuring that the message reaches its intended audience clearly and effectively. Here are some effective platforms: 1. Social Media: Tools like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook facilitate broad and targeted outreach, making them ideal for sharing success stories, tips, and engaging visual content. 2. Workshops and Webinars: These interactive formats address farmers' specific questions and provide a platform for demonstrating new techniques or products. 3. Email Newsletters: Regular newsletters keep the farming community informed about best practices and innovations, maintaining engagement and continuous learning. 4. Field Days and Demonstrations: Hands-on experience through field visits and live demonstrations greatly enhances understanding and adoption of new agricultural practices. Conclusion The combination of effective nutrient management post-harvest and strategic communication is key to increasing agricultural productivity. Communications officers must ensure that their messages not only reach a wide audience but also resonate and lead to practical application. This approach doesn't just boost plant health and yields; it also supports the creation of a more sustainable and informed agricultural landscape. By utilizing the best communication strategies, we can propagate knowledge and best practices across the agricultural sector, ultimately leading to enhanced productivity and sustainability.

Great panel from these titans of industry. Some takeaways: Indoor/vertical farms can't continue to push the narratives that brought it into light years ago. Customers care about quality, consistency and price. Using energy efficient LEDS, 90% less water usage, etc... is not a value prop for the consumer and retailer anymore.
We want to hear from our community attending Indoor Ag-Con. Let us know your key takeaway from this keynote. Dan Malech, Plenty® Jim DiMenna, Red Sun Farms Viraj Puri, Gotham Greens Soli Organic

BIOCHAR has an impact.
This is the third time this customer has ordered a large quantity of CompoChar, NutroChar and Biochar bags from us. This is the first time she invites me to see the garden of Eden she has created for herself. She lives in a big and busy city and when she returns home her relaxing piece of nature awaits her. I am glad that our biochars are part of such a beautiful creation.

Earlier this week I spent two inspiring days at Plant FWD event. In one word; we need to talk about Planti*fi*ca*tion. A wonderful event set-up by an amazing team, including that good old friend of mine Marcel van der Heijden, together with Maartje Nelissen, Tom van Duijn, Lotte Sluiter and Tim Agter. There were many innovative and inspiring talks spread over these 2 days. From Gourmet Garden's approach to navigating the diverse European market with it's plant -based portfolio to Emile van de Staak's personal story how he started Restaurant De Nieuwe Winkel and how Royal Cosun is rolling out its strategy The Plant Positive Way. I've seen 10 really interesting start-ups presenting themselves and was pleasantly surprised by OLALA! and Willicroft. Both amazing start-ups. But personally I was blown away by the talk from Berno Strootman, called Nederland Veganland. A visionary research on the question: "What if everyone in The Netherlands would eat a fully plant-based diet?" Suppose the Netherlands is a vegan country, where no farmland is used for the production of feed, meat or dairy and no animal products or feed are imported. What would this mean for climate justice and the major spatial tasks in the Netherlands? The choice to produce as much animal food as possible may be just for feeding people or for the Dutch economy. The question is whether it is also fair for the animals we keep, the nature we heavily pollute, the climate that we are changing, or the farmer who earns only limited income himself. Could a just system be created through other choices for example by having a lot of space left over if we were to eat differently and deal differently with the farmland deal with agricultural land? I found it really interesting to see the potential outcome of the research. It could create solutions for the many current challenges we face (from space for housing, reduction of emissions, creating (more) bio-diversity, more balance with nature, less deceases and many other problems we currently have). Of course this a theoretical research, but I do believe we should change more towards this vision. Even if we only take small steps, it might be a step in the right direction. Do read the report (in Dutch) at Nederland Veganland: https://lnkd.in/e3VTAPsv Enjoy your weekend!

🌿 The Local Farm Festival: Building Towards a Greater 2025 🌿 Last year marked the debut of The Local Farm Festival—a milestone where we celebrated our local farmers, showcased farm-fresh produce, and connected communities over the importance of sustainable living. Seeing the incredible support and enthusiasm from everyone reaffirmed the power of community-driven efforts to shape a more resilient food ecosystem. As we looked to 2024, we made a conscious decision to pause and rethink how we can make an even bigger impact. The challenges and opportunities in the local food landscape have deepened our resolve to create a festival that does more than inspire; we want it to be a catalyst for meaningful change. The Local Farm Festival 2025 will expand on our commitment to building a "Farm-to-Table-to-Farm" movement—a platform where farmers, businesses, consumers, and advocates collaborate to strengthen our local food supply chain and champion sustainability together. We’re gearing up for a festival that connects B2B and B2C audiences through engaging conversations, interactive showcases, and a spirit of innovation. Our goal is to foster greater awareness, build stronger networks, and drive real solutions that support our local farming community and sustainable food practices. If you’re passionate about food security, sustainability, or simply want to support our local farms, let’s connect! We’re seeking partners, contributors, and like-minded individuals who want to help shape a thriving ecosystem. Together, we can elevate our community and create a meaningful impact—one step at a time. #TheLocalFarmFestival #TheLocalFarm #Sustainability #FoodSecurity #CommunityBuilding #FarmToTable #Collaboration #NoFarmersNoFood

I came up with the term "inclusively exclusive" as a way to protect my peace as a single Black woman who built Green Heffa Farms from the ground up. It’s a reminder that while Green Heffa Farms is open to all who value high-quality, ethically grown herbs, we are rooted in a mission that honors the land, our ancestors, future generations and the work it takes to bring real change to agriculture. Being inclusively exclusive means we welcome those who truly get it—those who understand that this farm wasn’t built overnight and that our products aren’t about fast, cheap, or trendy. It’s about doing things the right way, even if it takes longer. It’s for the conscious consumers who feel good about supporting a Black woman-owned business and who value quality over convenience. This space is for everyone, but not everyone will appreciate the care, patience, and heart we pour into every plant. And that’s okay. We’re cultivating a community, not just customers. #InclusivelyExclusive #BlackWomanOwned #GreenHeffaFarms #ProtectingMyPeace #ConsciousConsumer #SustainableFarming #nofilter #herbs #wellbeing
At Green Heffa Farms, we believe in being inclusively exclusive. Our herbs are grown for everyone who values high-quality products cultivated with integrity and respect for the earth. We believe in producing the highest quality herbs—grown in a way that is deeply respectful of the land, the people, and the process. Our customers understand that we are committed to doing things the right way, not the fast way, and they appreciate that our methods prioritize the well-being of everyone involved, from the soil to the harvest. We’re not just another herb farm; we’re creating something special, for those who truly value mindful, intentional products. We do not grow for the spiritually raggedy. While our farm is proudly Black woman-owned, our herbs are grown for anyone who respects and embraces that journey. Our customers are conscious consumers who understand that supporting businesses like ours isn’t just about the product—they feel good knowing they are contributing to a greater cause. They care about who grows their food and herbs, how it’s grown, and the values behind the farm. It’s not just about avoiding harm; it’s about actively choosing products that are in harmony with their ethics and beliefs. We invite everyone to be a part of our journey, but we know not everyone will align with our values—and that’s okay. We believe in being inclusively exclusive: we’re here for those who appreciate the time, care, and love that go into our process, even if it sometimes means waiting a bit longer. Our customers understand that premium quality takes time, and they trust that we’re always giving our best to deliver something truly special. We grow for you, and we’re grateful for your support.
