Today, we pause in gratitude in remembrance of the brave men and women who have served in our nation's armed forces. As we celebrate Veterans Day, Allegany Franciscan Ministries honors the selflessness and courage of those who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms. Guided by our Catholic faith, we recognize in our veterans a profound example of service and commitment, embodying the love that Jesus calls us to show one another. In the spirit of peace and healing, we lift up all veterans and their families in prayer, asking God to bless them abundantly. May they find comfort in His love, strength in their faith, and support within their communities. Today, let us take time to reach out to a veteran, listen to their stories, and offer a moment of thanks. 🙏🏽 🇱🇷 #Afmfl #Alleganyfranciscanministries #community #veteransday

Strategic Insights: Gideon's Army and Military Might In this video transcription, the speaker discusses how God's instructions to Gideon in reducing the size of his army before battle may seem contradictory to human reasoning. The common belief is that a larger army increases chances of victory, but God's lesson to Gideon was that military might should not always be measured by quantity. This example challenges conventional wisdom and highlights the importance of trusting in God's guidance even when it goes against logic. The story of Gideon serves as a reminder that God's ways are not always understood by human reasoning, but they ultimately lead to greater outcomes. #God #Gideon #faith #warfare #strategy #military #wisdom #divineintervention #viralvideo #vizard

Keller Army Community Hospital recognizes National Vietnam War Veterans Day – observed every year on March 29th. The United States Vietnam War Commemoration (VWC) was authorized by Congress, established under the Secretary of Defense, and launched by President Obama in 2012. The purpose of the VWC is to thank and honor our Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice on behalf of the nation, with distinct recognition of former prisoners of war and families of those still listed as missing in action. Today we THANK, HONOR, and RECOGNIZE our nation’s Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice. There are five objectives with Vietnam Commemoration and the other four are: · Highlight the service of our Armed Forces and support organizations during the war. · Pay tribute to wartime contributions at home by American citizens. · Highlight technology, science and medical advances made during the war. · Recognize contributions by our Allies. Today we recognize the service and sacrifices of those U.S. Armed Forces personnel who served between November 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975, regardless of location of service which includes: · Nine million Americans serving during that time. · 6.4 million Americans living today. · 2.7 million U.S. service members who served in Vietnam. · More than 58,000 whose names are memorialized on a black granite wall in our Nation’s capital. · More than 304,000 who were wounded. · More than 1,200 Missing in Action (MIA) heroes who have not yet returned to American soil. · The more than 2,500 who were Prisoners of War (POWs) The commemoration makes no distinction between veterans who served in-county, in-theater, or were stationed elsewhere during those 20 years. #VietnamWarVeterans #VietnamWar #veterans #service #sacrifice #honor #UntilTheyAllComeHome

Honoring Our Heroes: A Social Story for Memorial Day What is Memorial Day? It's a special day in the United States (on the last Monday of May) to remember all the brave men and women who served in the military. These are people who wear uniforms and protect our country. Why do we remember them? ️ Some of these heroes fought in battles to keep us safe, and some might not be here anymore because they died protecting our freedom. How do we celebrate? We visit cemeteries (special places where people are buried) to place flowers on their graves. We might see parades with flags and people in uniforms. (Flags represent America!) What can you do? Help hang a flag! Draw pictures to thank veterans! Spreading Awareness: As we approach Memorial Day, consider sharing resources about veterans' services or organizations supporting military families with your network. #MemorialDay #SocialStory #AutismAwareness #ThankYouVeterans #RememberingHeroes

Reflections on Remembrance Day I understand that the United States observes Veterans Day on November 11, focusing on honoring all military veterans, both living and deceased. However, in Canada, Remembrance Day centers on commemorating those who have died in military service. Remembrance Day is more than just a holiday; it’s a solemn tribute to those who served, fought, and, for many, gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live in peace and freedom. Today, on November 11, at exactly 11:00 a.m., we pause in silence for two minutes to remember and honor the countless men and women who have dedicated their lives to the values that we cherish. During the Remembrance Day ceremony, I noticed a relatively young Armed Forces member crying uncontrollably. I felt a tug at my heart. My thoughts? Either he was grappling with the weight of an unknown future—wondering what sacrifices might lie ahead if he hadn’t fully contemplated the depth of his life choice—or he was simply overcome with sadness for the lives lost in battle. In that moment, I saw the human side of service. Veterans are remembered not just for their courage but for their discipline and quiet strength, even when the path is uncertain. But it’s important to remember that some servicemen and women face unseen battles. Many struggle with the scars of their service, suffering from conditions like PTSD. For some, these battles are lifelong, and not all come out the other side the same. Today, I honor my roots as a product of a veteran—a legacy of discipline and resilience that taught us all that strength is found in service. These values are passed down, shaping us in ways we can never fully put into words. In honor of those who served and fell, we remember. What will you be remembered for? #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget #HonoringHeroes #MilitaryService #CanadianVeterans #SacrificeAndService #InMemoriam #ThankYouVeterans #StrengthInService #LegacyOfCourage #PTSAwareness #RememberTheFallen #November11 #HonoringSacrifice
