High-tech and technology-related disputes often have unique features, which are frequently not well-suited for resolution in open courts, and not even under common Alternative Dispute Resolution procedures. In light of these features, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (“#UNCITRAL”) published a draft of model clauses on Specialized Express Dispute Resolution (“#SPEDR”) adapted to High-Tech Industry related disputes (UNCITRAL: United Nations Commission on International Trade Law). Bermuda - new trade marks law set for implementation 1 February 2025. New official fees are aligned with current fees for the most part but the introduction of a multi-class filing system should reduce overall costs to brand owners. Arbitral Tribunal is defined in Section 2 Sub-section (1) Clause (a) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, According to this definition, the arbitration authority refers to the sole arbitrator or Panel of Arbitrators. It is therefore clear that if a dispute is referred to a sole arbitrator, he is a sole arbitrator. Ho is the mediating authority for the (purpose) purpose of this Act. If a dispute has been referred by agreement between the parties to more than one panel (list) of arbitrators, this panel of arbitrators shall be deemed to be the Arbitral Tribunal for the purpose of this Act. The parties have the right to refer the dispute to a sole arbitrator or a panel of arbitrators. The above definition of the Arbitration Act is derived from the definition given under Article 2 of the Model Law of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

On 31 July 2024, Carter Chim was invited by LEGAL PLUS Global to speak at the Asia Forum: 4th International Arbitration & Competition Law Summit — Hong Kong.
