How do you select the aluminum alloy for casting shell /housing/cover components? I hope this article can give you some useful information. For casing-type parts, the choice of aluminum alloy for casting largely depends on the specific requirements, such as strength, corrosion resistance, and casting properties. However, some commonly used alloys for casting shell /housing/cover components are: ADC12 (Al-Si alloy): Pros: Excellent fluidity, good castability, and good surface finish. It’s widely used in die casting for automotive parts, electronic housings, and other shell components. Cons: Lower strength compared to other alloys, but adequate for most housing applications. A380 (Al-Si-Cu alloy): Pros: Excellent castability, good mechanical properties, and good corrosion resistance. It's commonly used in die casting for automotive and industrial applications, especially for large, intricate parts. Cons: Not as strong as other alloys like 6061 but suitable for most shell components. A356 (Al-Si-Mg alloy): Pros: Higher strength, excellent castability, and good fatigue resistance. It’s a good option for high-stress shell applications, such as in the aerospace or automotive industries. Cons: Slightly more difficult to cast than ADC12 and A380 due to the magnesium content, but offers better performance. A413 (Al-Si-Cu alloy): Pros: Good castability and excellent surface finish. Alnico alloys can be magnetised to produce strong magnetic fields and have a high coercivity(resistance to demagnetization),thus making strong permanent magnets.Of the more commonly available magnets,onlt rare-earth magnets such as neodymium and samarium-cobalt are stronger.Alnico magnets produce magnetic field strength at their poles as high as 1500 gauss (0.15 tesla). Alnico alloys have some of the highest Curie temperatures of any magnetic material,around 800C,although the maximal working temperature is typically limited to around 538C.They are the only magnets that have useful magnetism even when heated red-hot. Alnico magnets are produced by casting or sintering processes.Cast alnico is produces by conventional methods using resin bonded sand molds,which can be intricate and detailed,thereby allowing for complex shapes to be produced.The produced alnico magnet typically has a rough surface.This process has higher iinitial tooling costs for mold creation. Sintered alnico magnets are formed using powdered metal manufacturing methods.While sintering can also produce a range of shapes,it may not be as suitable for extremly intricate or detailed designs compared to casting.

Grade of BP4205，it is a high-performance turning grade with good chemical and mechanical wear resistance, and is used for finish and semi-finish machining of Heat-Resistant Super Alloys，by avoiding the reaction between the insert and the workpiece material，it also improves the toughness of the inserts, thereby extending tool life and increasing productivity for Heat-Resistant Super Alloys.It's also used for steel and stainless steel finishing machining. Advantages of coating:  The coating is composed of a composite of Bangpu P09 coating and a new surface layer of champagne color, which will not chemically react with the workpiece material when processing nickel and titanium elements; the low coefficient of surface friction greatly improves chip flow control, and the coating can also cope with temperature changes caused by the use of coolant; the coating can be used normally at high temperatures, which can appropriately increase the cutting speed and provide productivity.
