Alliance for Aviation Across America’s Post

"At the Center for Sustainable Infrastructure, we believe in building a future where sustainability goals can also drive economic growth, innovation, rural opportunity and prosperity. The transition to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is a prime example of how we can turn today’s environmental challenges into tomorrow’s economic opportunities. That’s why it’s important to commend Rep. Suzan DelBene, D-Wash., for her leadership as a founding member of the Congressional Sustainable Aviation Caucus. SAF is a game-changer that represents a shift toward a circular economy where waste products like agricultural residues and renewable energy are transformed into jet fuel, powering both our planes and our economy. And here in Washington, we’re already seeing this future take shape. Nationwide, the SAF transition could result in nearly $800 billion in capital investments and support as many as 400,000 jobs. Rep. DelBene’s commitment to sustainable aviation reflects the kind of forward-thinking leadership we need to tackle the climate crisis while creating economic opportunities that benefit everyone. By advancing SAF, we can unlock new markets, create quality jobs, position Washington as a global leader in the next wave of clean energy innovation, and support the aviation industry, including general aviation, in their ambitious goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Sustainability has to work for the market and for our communities. Rep. DelBene’s efforts in sustainable aviation are leading the way, ensuring that Washington remains at the forefront of building a sustainable, resilient economy for all."
