https://lnkd.in/gHDS9S-j Woke up today and I watched this promotion video from Brooks Running, and it is such an inspirational story from one of my favourite Marvels movie superheroes, Jeremy Renner aka Hawkeye. Everything he spoke about in his video is something that I can relate with (except the accident). I understand what it is like to have so many mistakes and failures in my life and I understand what it is like to always want to keep getting up, to keep trying, and to keep fighting. While others saw it as pointless and a waste of time, I saw it differently. I knew that one day things would change and things would be different. So I kept on persevering. I am so glad that I persevered. Because after nearly 20 years of following my passions and now calling, I have finally achieved that very first big step towards my goal. It may have taken me nearly 20 years to get there, but hey, point is that I got there. And I never stopped chasing after my goals/dream. I didn't give up when others thought that I should. This week, we officially launched Fit Liberty: a free exchange service that removes the expectation of size fluctuation from the shopping experience. Fit Liberty was an idea that my dear friend and co-founder Alex had since we came together to start this brand eight years ago. A simple idea, really, that was strangely revolutionary. Alex wanted to provide our customers with pieces that they could buy for the size they were at that very moment, without any worries... we would replace their purchase with a new size if theirs were to change within one year. In Alex's words, "You shouldn't make an emotional payment when you buy clothes." I think of this often and believe that clothes should GIVE you a joyous emotion—a eureka moment, a content feeling that you've made the right choice. That's what Fit Liberty does. "We believe your clothes should always fit, feel, and look good. And, women deserve to live their lives without feeling bullied by their size." - Alex Waldman I've wanted to formally launch Fit Liberty for so many reasons. For our community, of course, but also for my late friend Alex whose legacy I cherish and want to weave into every single thing we do at Universal Standard. The brand was her deepest passion. Fit Liberty is the true embodiment of our combined dedication to making the fashion industry a more inclusive place.

A commercial doesn't need to feel like a commercial. Jeremy Renner opens this video with the line: "I have no business doing a running commercial." What follows is a refreshingly un-commercial "commercial." I prefer to reference it as a well-told story. It's a tale of recovery, resilience and, yes, running. But it certainly doesn't feel like a commercial. And that's the point. I also dig the broader campaign line: Let's Run There. You can already sense exactly where this campaign is heading and the possibilities are, with intention, fairly limitless.
