A very well stated mindset of a Management Consultant.
Things nobody tells you about management consulting—sharing from my experience at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). - One of the most challenging things as a management consultant is explaining to people what you do (sometimes even to yourself). - Everybody’s experience is different based on multiple factors: practice area, client, problem statement, team, managers, travel, work hours, and their own goals and priorities at that point in life. - Whether someone says they love it, hate it, enjoy it, or feel frustrated, believe them. If they say all these things in one day or even one sentence, still believe them. - Not everyone aspires or needs to travel all the time. While the prospect of staying in 5-star hotels, flybacks, and reward points is attractive, some people prefer projects at their home location to minimise travel. - Your love for travel might not translate into enjoying travelling for work. Over time, I realised that travelling for work is also work, and I started preferring projects at my base location. - Ranting becomes an integral part of your life; rant-bonding is real, and having a support system to rant with is very important. - The uncertainty factor is so huge that I might have to spam here with a separate post about it. #ManagementConsulting #MBB #BCG #Consulting #ConsultantLife #WorkTravel

Started my day with a list of three goals I wanted to knock out—and a sense of curiosity about what was ahead. First on the list? Sourcing for a Manager or Senior Manager (Associate Director) for our Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy (TRS) team in Sydney and Perth. ➡ https://lnkd.in/gBdU5EVU I’ll admit it, this was brand new territory for me! But exploring the unknown is part of the adventure. Every day truly offers a chance to grow, right? #LifelongLearning #RecruiterLife Speaking of growth—did you know you can lock specific cells in an Excel sheet, allowing others to edit around them while protecting key data? I just found out, and maybe I'm a bit late to the party, but hey, it’s my new favorite Excel trick! I bet most of you already know about it! #WorkplaceHacks The day flew by, filled with candidate sourcing, and it’s clear there are endless opportunities for learning and collaboration here at EY. But for now, I’m holding back from diving in too deep—I want to make sure I’m excelling in my role first before taking on more. For now, I'm focusing on getting up to speed in my role, but who knows what else I'll lock or unlock along the way! #NewBeginnings ⭐️ If this post resonated with you, feel free to share and follow for more insights! #CareersWithFernand #HiringWithHeart #EmpowerTheWorkplace #ShapeTheFutureWithConfidence #EYJobs Disclaimer: The views and opinions expressed here are my own and do not represent those of my employer. 🌟 #JobsANZ | We're hiring in Australia & New Zealand! What do LinkedIn's Top 2024 companies have in common? Many of them like EY, Continental, and American Express are embracing Global Mobility, offering employees the opportunity to work abroad as a strategy to retain talent. This trend reflects a growing recognition of the value of international experiences in professional development, diversity, innovation, and employee satisfaction. And According to a survey by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), nearly 75% of millennials and Gen Z express a strong desire to work abroad at some point in their careers. "EY receives over 50,000 internal applications annually for cross-border positions, with numbers increasing each year. People who have been on a mobility assignment stay with EY longer, as they show on average a 15% higher retention rate compared to peers who have not been on an assignment, according to the company." The hurdle: Typical relocation packages cost $90K domestically and $300K internationally, only for 1/3 to quit their job within a year or return early due to social acclimation issues. Solution: Take care of your employees and protect your investment, without breaking the bank. The average company using Pivt Enterprise sees an ROI of 700% in retention. https://lnkd.in/gbKq9Qsr #innovation #futureofwork #hrtech

Impressive work by Deloitte in addressing the labor shortage in the hospitality industry with a strategic, people-first approach! At Noorani + Partners, we also believe that tackling challenges with purpose and vision is key to building successful organizations. We’re dedicated to helping companies find and attract the right leadership to drive meaningful change and achieve their goals. Looking forward to reading more about Deloitte's impactful initiatives!
What does work with purpose look like? I recently sat down with The Globe and Mail and shared stories of how our teams at Deloitte are helping others and building a prosperous, sustainable future for Canadians. For example, take our collaboration with the Hotel Association of Canada to help address a shortage of 200,000 roles following the pandemic. This was a serious challenge, as many hotels were unable to operate at full capacity. Fortunately, our teams see challenges as opportunities. We developed a people-first strategy that helped attract the talent hotels needed by drawing on research from industry leaders and global insights. We delivered 90 actionable recommendations focused on attracting talent, transforming job perceptions, and cutting vacancy rates. In turn, we helped the industry get back on its feet and deliver meaningful work to Canadians. For more stories on how Deloitte is leading purposeful work and making an impact on our communities and countries, read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gDkRFhuZ Sheri Penner Blaine Woodcock Beverley Pao, FCPA, CA Cheryl Manuel Georgina Black Nicole Torgrimson Philippe Bélair, M.
