SIMTEK is expanding its standard simturn DX range with a variety of tools with 3D-lasered chip forming geometries for boring of bores from a minimum bore diameter of 7.0 mm (0.2756") up to a minimum bore diameter of 15.5 mm (0.6102"). The 3D-lasered chip forming geometry ensures maximum chip control, even with difficult-to-machine materials. The chips are optimally broken and can therefore be safely guided out of the bore, which leads to a considerable increase in process reliability, service life and ultimately component quality. Thanks to a WIPER geometry, the main time can also be significantly reduced by increasing the feed rate or the surface quality can be considerably improved at a lower feed rate. Types of Motors used in SMT In SMT equipment, various types of motors are utilized for different purposes, including component placement, conveyors, and other automated functions. Some common types of motors used in SMT equipment include: 🔹 Linear servo motor: The Linear servo motors are used in Pick & Place machine for axis movement (X&Y). They provide high-speed and high-acceleration capabilities, making them suitable for applications requiring rapid and accurate positioning. 🔹 Servo motor: Servo motors are employed in SMT equipment for tasks that require high precision, speed, and torque. They offer smooth and continuous motion control and are often used in conjunction with encoders for feedback to ensure accurate positioning. The servo motors are used in Screen Printer, AOI, SPI & Router machine and some Pick & Place machine too. 🔹 Stepper motor: These motors are widely used in SMT for conveyor belt movement,and other automated functions. 🔹 DC motor: These motors are utilized in feeder indexing. They offer simplicity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness for applications that do not require extremely precise positioning. 🔹 Induction motor: These motors are used in Reflow conveyors. While induction motors may not offer the same level of precision and control as some other motor types, they are well-suited for the continuous and relatively straightforward motion required in reflow conveyor systems. Additionally, they are often coupled with speed controllers or variable frequency drives (VFDs) to provide some degree of speed control and flexibility in operation.
