Weekly fire alarm tests aren’t just there to interrupt phone calls and make you jump! Just like monthly flick testing of emergency lights and monthly visual inspection of fire extinguishers, weekly fire alarm tests are required in most business premises to make sure everything works in the case of a real emergency, helping you and your colleagues evacuate safely. If you’re responsible for running these regular checks, it’s important to know how to complete them – and log them – correctly. Not just for the safety of colleagues, customers and visitors to your site, though of course that IS the main purpose, but also to ensure your business is compliant with regulations, and that your insurance remains valid. So if you’re not sure how to make sure you’re doing and recording your in-house testing in the right way, call Gavin Franklin at Waendel Fire on 07591 205559 (or email gavin@waendelfire.co.uk). Our technicians can show and assist with the tests needed, giving hands-on, practical demonstrations in how to keep people safe on your site – as we recently did at Diamonds Business Centre in Irthingborough - as well as making sure you’re operating within the law. #firealarmtest #fireprotection
