Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day. It is a day when random acts of kindness are celebrated and encouraged. "It's just a day to celebrate kindness and the whole pay it forward mentality", said Tracy Van Kalsbeek, executive director of the Stratford Perth Community Foundation. For instance, people are encouraged to do something kind for a stranger, such as giving someone a smile, offering to help someone in need, or even buying a cup of coffee for a stranger. How much local, state, and federal funding, tax credits, or other government benefits or incentives did the project receive? 2. What is the affordability period for each project? Is the affordability period permanent and in perpetuity? 3. What guarantees exist have your local, state, and federal government officials obtained in writing that rents will not go up or that tenants will not be displaced or evicted after the "affordability period expires? 🌲 What I learned Volunteering at Scout Camp 🌲 During the past weekend, I had the opportunity to reflect on my summer. I volunteered as an adult leader at Camp Royaneh, a scout camp nestled deep in the Redwoods. At the closing campfire, the adult leaders were recognized. 🔥 But I took away something even more meaningful. A couple of years ago, one of my scouts twisted his ankle on the first day! 🙀 He was slower than everyone else. Discomfort and frustration! 🙁 Faced with navigating the large camp on crutches, he considered asking his parents to pick him up. 🤕 But fellow scouts, adults, and camp staff rallied around him, offering him support and encouragement. “We see and recognize your struggle – keep going!” Ultimately, he chose to stay and to push through, ending the week feeling very proud. He had grown through overcoming adversity. 🙌 Can you remember something similar at work? When faced with an unexpected setback, a new team member might decide that "this is not for me" OR that "I am going to get through this." Peers and leaders – we all can have significant influence.  But it takes effort, just like slowing down to accompany a fellow scout on crutches. #Perseverance #Teamwork #YouthDevelopment #GrowthMindset

The words of a six-year-old child touch us deeply, describing their desperate situation so accurately: "Where should we go when we have given up hope for a Life? With the support of the Holy Spirit Church, we have been provided with a plot of land as a point of contact. Here, a large tent with washing facilities and toilets is being set up. In nightly conversations, we invite street children to join us in venturing back into society. It's not an easy path, as the experiences on the streets run deep. We offer food, education, and the opportunity to wash and receive clothing. At the end stands the return to family or, if this is not possible, placement in foster families. With the help of sponsorships and donations, we enable them to attend a simple school. Help us to help the children. Your heart can open doors and enable the children to have a new future.
