Do you really think that is important? I last witnessed that Infrabel resorted back to practices I am sure that did not exist before. Real Kafka. Line 53. direction of Mechelen. The shit began as early as Wijgmaal All signals were put to red. The driver in contact with Infrabel trough GSM-R had to exit his train and fill in a paper at every signal with the reason why he wanted to continue and cross the red sign.Heu? Then at every railway crossing he had to pass at maximum 5km/hour signalling his presence. This during numerous signals and crossings (all crossings were perfectly closed - major traffic jams) Then we passed the railway crossing causing this shit - crossing perfectly closed. (no it is the idiot from Infrabel that is causing this shit ) police, safety personnel and all were present at the crossing.. All crossings perfectly closed. Even at the crossing after causing the issue, still the same shit. So maybe a good suggestion is to propose a specialized AI application to assist the traffic controllers at managing their trains and tell them not to cause such disturbing bull-shit. I know it is a fairly new procedure. I have had it now twice. What is this about? In what way is the security increased by having the driver descend from the train in open track, and walk to the signal, open a box - fill out a paper - take the double and walk back to the train? Infrabel is going backwards instead of forwards. It is not AI that is required, but simple basic I - Intelligence. Who invented this stupid procedure in 202x+ that drivers need to descend, fill in a paper sheet and get back in their train in order to cross a red signal. What is wrong with the Orange signal - drive on sight. NMBS can be lucky I am not a driver, as I would personally twist my foot fall on the tracks and would need to be evacuated from the tracks. Sorry passengers, but I am convinced that after some similar incidents Infrabel will review its procedures. The ideal spot (hint) would be at the signal in the middle between Heverlee and Oud-Heverlee just before passing the campus - no mobile coverage. Ideal. Somebody needs to proof that these new regulations are bull-shit. Let the management proof that I or you faked my fall. The poor passengers, well I hope they will get in Leuven bij the early afternoon. I used the example of line 53, but I had the same story between Oud-Heverlee and Leuven. Really great when it takes over 30 minutes to get from Oud-Heverlee to Leuven. Let AI not replace Human Intelligence. Hopefully you can help your colleagues with some real daily life advise and help making the trains run back on time. I do not see why AI is needed to identify green that needs to be trimmed at the side of the track. Even as a passenger I can identify that certainly when the branches touch the train windows. I repeat it Infrabel is going backwards instead of forewards. This all due to politicians running the company instead of people that know what they are doing.

Great spontaneous testimonial of Infrabel on Kapernikov's work on 3D data for #assetmanagement 💡 Do you want to see a full demo with latest features? If you are responsible for maintenance of signals, rails or catenary cables, let’s connect and make it happen. 🚆 Short story 🚆 Railway asset maintenance starts with inspecting dispersed assets. Traditional manual field inspections are not only time-consuming but also come with significant safety risks. The rise of automated imaging, including 3D data from #LiDAR sensors, is transforming this process. Site evaluations can now be conducted remotely through desktop analysis, drastically reducing the need for physical presence. ✅ Key Benefits: 🔹 Significant time savings through automated maintenance notifications 🔹 Enhanced safety and efficiency 🔹 AI-powered anomaly detection for issues like vegetation overgrowth, rail instability, and catenary malfunctions However, with these advancements comes the need for new skills to manage and process the vast amounts of data generated. At Kapernikov, we provide solutions to automate data processing and integrate intelligent algorithms into existing workflows. We’re proud to support major railway operators in embracing this digital transformation. Let’s keep our railways safe, efficient, and future-ready. 🚄 #RailwayMaintenance #Automation #ArtificialIntelligence #LiDAR #DigitalTransformation https://lnkd.in/ehk3qbt9

Debunking Vegetation Management Myths 🌳 MYTH: Pink mapping on my vegetation management map means I can't touch any vegetation. FACT: A range of routine property management activities are considered exempt clearing work. Some clearing activities can be undertaken under an accepted development vegetation clearing code. In other circumstances, you may be able to apply for a development approval for your clearing proposal. 📞 Check the clearing rules that apply to you, by making a free call to the Veg Hub on 13 58 34. #vegetationmanagement #callbeforeyouclear #veghub

A true integrated vegetation management (IVM) program deploys the most appropriate controls for the immediate objective – all with an added goal of establishing, improving and maintaining critical habitat. So how exactly can IVM benefit you and the species you want to protect? https://bit.ly/3XSj7it

Reedbed management 🦢 Reedbeds are an important asset that provide many habitats. In order to protect species, maintenance is vital to ensure the water body stays healthy. Works to commence in September to thin back encroaching growth of Phragmites. #truxor #reedbed #maintenance #aquaticmaintenance #reedcontrol #aquaticweed #dredging #siltremoval #lilycontrol #treeworks

Reducing encroaching juniper to restore grasslands not only revitalizes ecosystems but also plays a crucial role in promoting stormwater recharge. By restoring native grasslands, we increase the infiltration capacity of the soil, allowing rainwater to penetrate deeper into the ground. This process helps replenish groundwater reserves, enhances soil moisture levels, and reduces surface runoff during heavy rainfall events. As a result, restored grasslands act as natural sponges, effectively capturing and storing water, ultimately contributing to more sustainable water management practices and supporting healthier ecosystems. I appreciate BLM's efforts in this area!

🔥🌲 To foster more resilient forests, PERC is leading the charge to increase the pace and scale of active forest management through research, analysis, education, and policy solutions. 🏛️ Ideas that had their genesis at PERC - fast-tracking forest restoration permitting, expediting environmental reviews, and making it easier for federal partners to support restoration efforts - are now playing a role nationwide. 🇺🇸 Our ongoing efforts mean we're on the path to fix America's forests with better and faster forest management. #CreativeConservation #Wildfire #ForestManagement #PERC
