The first images of the new helicopter emerged on Chinese social media platforms including Weibo last week, with observers referring to it as the Z-21. The first images of the new helicopter emerged on Chinese social media platforms including Weibo last week, with observers referring to it as the Z-21. It appears to share similarities with the Z-20 medium-lift helicopter, though the new aircraft’s fuselage is slimmer. The multirole Z-20 is seen as the Chinese version of the US Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk. With a capacity of 10 tonnes, the Z-20 is heavier than the two Chinese attack helicopters currently in service, the Z-10 and the Z-19. https://lnkd.in/dPWzCvk4

⭕⭕The BAK-12 aircraft arresting system can be installed in various configurations depending on the requirements of the airbase. The most common installation types are: ✨✨⭕Permanent Installations: These are fixed systems installed on the runway and are a standard safety feature at military airbases. They typically involve a cable system that can be engaged when needed to arrest the landing of an aircraft in an emergency. ✨✨⭕Mobile Installations: These systems are designed to be transportable and can be set up temporarily at airfields that do not have permanent arresting systems. They are useful for temporary bases or during certain operations where additional safety measures are necessary. ✨✨⭕Expeditionary Installations: Similar to mobile installations, these are designed for quick setup and removal, but they are more rugged and can be used in a variety of field conditions, often for short-term deployments or in combat zones. ✨✨⭕Each type of installation serves the purpose of safely decelerating and stopping an aircraft that cannot stop on its own due to an emergency, such as brake failure or other issues. The specific number of installations can vary based on the airbase’s design, operational requirements, and the technical orders that govern the service life and maintenance of the BAK-12 system

It is necessary to use all the military capabilities of Colombia to work hand by hand with the Unidad Nacional para la Gestión del Riesgo de Desastres (UNGRD) to combat and extinguish all the wildfires across the country, prevention, planification, anticipation are facts which take a key role. Joint & interagency operations have to be considered to ensure the maximum assets availability.
Four of the Colombian Police Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters have now been modified with 'Bambi Bucket' to extinguish fires. They can discharge 660 gallons of water, have a flight time of 2 hours and develop a maximum speed of 130 km/hour. #firefighting #aviation #helicopter

How are advancements in lifting technology reshaping search-and-rescue operations? Vita Inclinata Technologies and its subsidiary, Air Rescue Systems (ARS), are showcasing innovative SAR solutions at EUROPEAN ROTORS. Their systems, the Vita Rescue System (VRS) and the Pelican Rapid Extraction Device (R.E.D), focus on enhancing hoist stability and streamlining victim extraction, respectively. Designed for challenging environments, these technologies aim to reduce risk for both rescuers and victims. ARS is also spotlighting comprehensive helicopter rescue training programs tailored for military, law enforcement, and SAR teams. Covering critical techniques such as Fluid-Dynamic Hoist Training, Short Haul Operations, and Water Bucket Tactics, the training incorporates both classroom learning and flight exercises to ensure readiness in high-stakes missions. Matt Christensen, EVP of Vita Aerospace, will be presenting on VRS’s impact in improving hoist operation safety from Nov. 5-7. What do you think about these life-saving innovations for the SAR industry? It seems like you're referring to an "Erection Air Crane." An **Erection Air Crane** or **Helicopter Air Crane** is a type of heavy-lift helicopter specifically designed for lifting and transporting heavy loads, particularly in construction, firefighting, logging, or military applications. These helicopters are capable of carrying large structures or equipment to difficult-to-reach areas where traditional cranes or transport methods cannot operate, such as remote mountainous regions, high-rise buildings, or disaster zones. The most famous air crane is the **Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane**, which has been widely used for erecting towers, building structures, and even assisting in firefighting operations by carrying water or other fire retardants. Airbus agrees record 44 H225 deal for German Federal Police missions Airbus Helicopters has agreed a record deal with the German Ministry of the Interior for up to 44 H225 helicopters for use by the country’s Federal Police. The agreement includes 38 firm orders with options for a further six helicopters. Deliveries are due to start in 2029. Bruno Even, CEO, Airbus Helicopters welcomed the opportunity to contribute to the security of Germany. “The Bundespolizei can look forward to a modern helicopter thanks to the continuous improvements we’ve made to our H225 in recent years. It will remain one of the most advanced helicopters available on the market for the decades to come,” he said. The new H225s will replace the H155 and AS332 helicopters that have been in service with the German Federal Police for more than 20 years. The H225’s payload, range and advanced systems make it suitable for a range of law enforcement and homeland security missions including firefighting, disaster relief and special forces transport, according to the manufacturer. The contract also includes training and spare part packages to ensure a smooth transition for pilots and maintenance personnel. The German Federal Police operates 94 Airbus helicopters. Electronic Warfare Impacting Civilian Aviation I recently came across an eye-opening article on news about the growing threat of electronic warfare, particularly GPS spoofing, affecting commercial flights. This technology, initially developed for military purposes, is now posing significant risks to civilian aviation. Key Takeaways: GPS Spoofing Incidents: Pilots have reported instances where their navigation systems displayed incorrect positions, leading to false alarms and potentially hazardous situations. Safety Concerns: The increasing frequency of these incidents is alarming for airlines, pilots, and air-safety officials, highlighting the urgent need for more robust detection and mitigation systems. Real-Life Example: A commercial flight from Doha to Madrid experienced a GPS spoofing incident, causing the aircraft’s systems to falsely indicate it was dangerously close to the ground. This issue underscores the importance of advancing our technological defenses to ensure the safety and reliability of our aviation systems. #ElectronicWarfare #CivilAviation #GPSspoofing #AviationSafety #TechnologyDefense #AirlineSecurity #FlightSafety #GPSvulnerability #AircraftNavigation #AviationTechnology
