Did you know four billion people, nearly two thirds of the world population, experience severe water scarcity for at least month each year (courtesy of Unicef.org) With an increasing population, there is an increasing demand on water sources for domestic, industrial and agricultural uses. Coupled with increasing global temperatures, more frequent prolonged extreme weather events, more regions are experiencing water scarcity. With this there is more focus now more than ever how to better manage our water resources. Within the oil and gas process produced water is generated as a by-product and generally seen as a waste stream. Can this waste product be transformed into a valuable resource, adding value to provide water circular economy, reducing demand on local domestic or regional water sources? My colleagues and I at SLB are pushing the boundaries looking at innovative ways to view produced water as an opportunity driving positive change within our industry. Have a read of the linked article, I would love to hear your thoughts where the biggest opportunities are for upgrading water for beneficial use? https://lnkd.in/gwKeWf2U

Wastewater and the circular economy have become interconnected in the UK as part of efforts to address environmental sustainability, resource efficiency, and climate change. The circular economy (Return/Recycle/Re-use), as opposed to the traditional linear economy (Take/Make/Dispose), aims to keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract maximum value from them, and recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of their life cycle. Wastewater management is a key area where the circular economy is largely, being applied effectively. In the UK, wastewater management involves treating sewage and industrial water to remove contaminants before the water is returned to the environment. There are a high number of exceptions where the process is not working effectively as the Sewage Treatment Works (STWs) have had repetitive problems with ‘Storm Overflows.’ This is where there is too much rainfall for the STWs to cope. The other main area of concern is that phosphorus and nitrogen are prevalent in wastewater due to their use in agriculture and manufacturing. Resources are now dwindling yet their availability is critical for agricultural use. As contaminants in our wastewater, they are a threat to our eco-systems when re-introduced to our waterways. The water companies are now facing stringent limits to ensure our waterways are not suffocated. #wastewatertreatment #waterconservation #wastewater #sustainability https://lnkd.in/eS44pwmy

Hi All A sincere appeal to all of you please.. We know that there is a lot of water crisis everywhere and day is not that far when either we or our children will struggle for basic water so apart from the normal measures which we take we should also use this item for RO water wastage which can save you 30-60 litres of RO waste water which can be utilized for cleaning of utensils..strongly recommended..Imagine approx 50000 litres of water (approx 1000 flats ) saving per day which will save us a lot of society maintenance in long term and a sustainable approach..let's make our society water abundant and spread the word in your respective circles and make a bigger and wider impact...If not Now, then when??
