Companies should stop advertising their vacancies on linkedin. It is a genuine observation if the scores for skillset requirement and experience matches 100%, then also they tend to move for another candidate. They approach the candidate for position then they dont contact. Don't waste time of candidates, if you want to hire by recommendation, then dont advertise.

You can go beyond just applying online. Especially if you really want the job. Especially if you’re serious about standing out. Some things you can do to go one step further: ✅ Research who the hiring manager and recruiter is. Send personalised connection requests to them on LinkedIn. Mention you’ve applied and would love the opportunity to discuss the role further. Share a bit about why you’d be a good fit for the role. Keep it concise. The key here is to pique interest in you and attract them to check out your profile. ✅ Drop an email to the hiring manager / recruiter. Especially if they are not very active on LinkedIn. These days, email hunter tools make it easy to locate someone’s email address. Share why you’re excited about the role and how you can add value. ✅ Reach out to your contacts. See if they know anyone who works in this company. Set up a few informational interviews to understand more about the company, the role and how you can best contribute. ✅ Get in touch with ‘influencers’. These are people who are on the same team as this open role. They could be colleagues, direct reports or even stakeholders who partner closely with this role. Great way to understand the role and share how you’d be a great fit. …and more! Applying online is easy and convenient. But it is only 1 part of the entire process and it doesn't help you stand out as much. And in a world where many people choose easy, that little bit of extra effort can make an enormous difference, and get more companies (and people) to say YES to you because you show you're serious, you're a good fit and you're just right for the role.

Some ways to demonstrate your social media marketing experience in an interview: 1. Highlight relevant experience: When discussing your experience, focus on the projects and achievements that most closely align with the job requirements. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your responses and showcase your problem-solving abilities and the positive impact you made. 2. Quantify your results: Whenever possible, quantify the results of your social media marketing efforts. Did you increase brand awareness by X%? Grow the follower base by Y%? Improve website traffic by Z%? Numbers add credibility to your claims and demonstrate the value you brought to previous roles. 3. Showcase your social media knowledge: Be prepared to discuss the latest trends and platforms in social media marketing. This shows that you stay up-to-date in the field and are passionate about continuous learning. 4. Analyze the company's social media presence: Before the interview, take some time to research the company's social media profiles. Be prepared to discuss what they're doing well and suggest areas for improvement. This demonstrates your initiative and shows that you've put thought into the role.

Are you currently recruiting and finding that you've not had as many applications as you had hoped? If so, take a look at the job advert that you've been using. When creating your job advert, it’s important to consider the structure and content of what you’re saying to ensure that you’re appealing to your prospective employees by enticing them to read on. Many businesses don’t make their job adverts attractive, they don’t tailor them each time they recruit, they don’t include what makes them unique! Here are a few key points to check against your current advert: ➡ Do you have a short introduction about your company, when was it formed, its' history? ➡ Is a typical day outlined? ➡ Have you been too specific on the experience and skills that are needed / desirable from your ideal candidate? ➡ Have you provided more info about your company such as links to your website, socials and any other online content? Once you've re-worked your ad, take a look at where you've been advertising it. Are you posting it in the places where your ideal candidate will see it? Take a look at this list and see if there are any others that you can add into the attraction strategy: ➡ Facebook - posting in different job group or community groups in your given area ➡ Indeed - this offers free adverts, try the advert without sponsoring for the first couple of weeks to see who applies ➡ LinkedIn - you can create a free job advert and then share with your professional network on LinkedIn ➡ Instagram – use the relevant hashtags to increase reach ➡ Handshake – an idea platform if your role is suitable for graduates ➡ Nextdoor – a local community platform Don’t forget to ask your candidates where they saw the job advert, so you know next time what works well for you and your business! #recruitmenttips #jobadvert #idealcandidate #sheffieldjobs
