Moving Ahead shares that 87% of mentors and mentees feel empowered by their mentoring relationships and develop increased confidence through mentorship. It goes without saying that for many of us in reentry, confidence can often run low as we tackle hurdle after hurdle breaking into career pathways and educational pursuits. In the midst of this discouragement, the empathy, creativity, and support of a committed mentor can change feelings of helplessness to fuel for empowerment. Our mentors at Resilience Education often share that the mentoring experience impacts them just as positively as it does their mentee, like Brian Hathaway! Applications are open for our January mentorship cohort. However, mentorship done with empathy and intent can be a two-way street. By applying the fundamentals of Shine Theory in practice with mentorships, both the mentor and mentee can grow and learn from each other, shining together as their relationship flourishes. https://ow.ly/8sSp50RPr76
