It’s disappointing to see such kind of brand marketing in Hong Kong 🇭🇰. Whether it’s the agency that created it or the marketer who approved it, they need to learn more about sportsmanship. Pizza Hut’s playful taunt towards Italy by offering free pineapple toppings to celebrate our fencer's Olympic victory may have been intended to honor Hong Kong's achievements, but such actions can undermine Hong Kong’s sportsmanship and respect for competitors and other countries. Taunting another nation, especially in a context where emotions run high, risks fostering negativity and divisiveness. Instead of celebrating victories through mockery, why not we embrace humility and honor the spirit of all sports. True sportsmanship is about recognizing the efforts of all athletes, regardless of the outcome. Rather than taunting competitors, we should focus on self-improvement and lifting others up when we have the ability. Leaders and entrepreneurs, take this as a lesson. Step by step in the right direction 🤝🔥

Sometimes life hands you these surreal moments that you can never forget. One of mine was after Operation London Bridge - or The Queen’s Funeral - stepping out onto the Mall with my peers, knowing we helped deliver that historic event. I’ll never forget those turbulent 10 days. It was such a strange time in the world but what stands out the most are the connections I built during that event because when moments of sadness happen, your connections with people grow stronger. Like Hector Macpherson Brown, who (if you don’t know him) is this powerhouse from the Scottish events scene and works on mega events like Glastonbury and Boomtown. Despite both being in the industry for years, we hadn’t crossed paths until that moment. Now, we catch up regularly - most recently at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival - a bond formed during those unforgettable 10 days. And that’s the beauty of this industry, isn’t it? It’s all about the people. Those conversations and connections have led to so many opportunities since, like when LS Events remembered our work and booked us for the UEFA Champions League Festivals - and I got to book my OLB partner-in-logging Jessica Plant (and so many other amazing control staff) along for the ride. They say it’s not what you know, but who you know - and honestly, that’s never been truer for me. Every conversation, every connection, every moment - it all adds up to something bigger.
