The Battle of Mojo Against Coca-Cola and Pepsi in Bangladesh:
Coca-Cola and Pepsi have dominated Bangladesh's beverage market for decades, holding an 80-90% share. Their strong marketing and branding strategies act like a mafia, preventing other brands from competing.
Recent Example 1: When calls to boycott Coca-Cola and Pepsi arose due to the Palestine issue, local brand Mojo declared it would donate one taka per bottle to support Palestinians. This campaign rapidly boosted Mojo's market share from 10-20% to 35-40%. However, Mojo faced production capacity issues. To meet demand, they partnered with a top Bangladeshi multinational for production support. Suddenly, this partner ceased cooperation without explanation, a move likely influenced by the beverage giants.
Mojo then invested in advanced machinery from Germany, a process taking 2-3 months, to expand their own production capacity and meet the growing demand.
Recent Example 2: Coca-Cola and Pepsi provide free fridges to retailers with the condition that they must prioritize their products. Recently, they banned retailers from stocking Mojo in these fridges. As a result, Mojo struggled to maintain visibility and sales, although many retailers still supported Mojo out of love for Palestine or preference for local products.
Conclusion: Despite the challenges and conspiracies against it, Mojo continues to stand resilient against the beverage giants, representing the voice of millions of young Bangladeshis.

I am fortunate enough to work within a business that allows everyone to throw out ideas, concepts and content. Sometimes some work, sometimes they need tweaking, sometimes other directions are followed - that's the beauty of a versatile Marketing team!
I am so proud to have played a small part in my second truck design project - namely the redesign of these BMF trucks.
A while ago, I was part of the creative team that designed our 45th Anniversary truck design - and now, I helped ( in a small way) design the new truck.
And oddly enough - not the photography - that was done by our extraordinary marketing team - including the underrated but highly accomplished Herendran Reddy - who was able to make meat look amazing ( if you shoot meat, especially for retail you will know how challenging this is to get right!) Now imagine seeing that same meat a few metres in size!
The natural wood background was a masterstroke - protein, wood, earthy - a great combination ( if you ask me!)
No, for me, I occasionally get some really awesome tasks to do, and usually around words, and smashing them around till something sticks. Not an easy task when you work in a business that is continually innovating advertising campaigns - trying to come up with something original, and catchy, is not easy!
Luckily, the product speaks for itself. Proteins served out of our stores, are incredibly wallet friendly, and yet, do not sacrifice on taste. That's because our team at the Boxer Meat Factory ( led by the incredible Michael Hoffman ) and his team including the awesome Candice Corden ) are extraordinarily great at creating delicious, meaningful products that deserve to be on the plates of millions of South Africans, every day. "Great Value, Even Better Taste!" - Simple, clear and to the point. Next time you visit a Boxer, grab a pack of Mama's Russians and you will see what I mean.
What's the last project you worked on that you are really proud of?

If you happen to travel around the North Coast of KZN, you may drive past our Boxer Meat Factory. Servicing the factory are a fleet of BMF trucks, and recently, we gave these important vehicles a new look.
Featuring our most loved Boxer proteins, including our renowned russians and perfect polony offerings, these mouthwatering South African Favourite are accompanied by our BMF motto which reminds our customers that Boxer Superstores provides delicious proteins at a price that has everyone smiling!
So next time you see us our awesome BMF trucks on the road, give us a hoot :)

This week GPSA attended the official opening and naming of T-Ports's Port of Narungga in Wallaroo, which has the capacity to process up to half a million tonnes of grain annually. The new port provides another grain export pathway for growers across the Yorke Peninsula and Mid North.
This weekend, Viccarbe Logistics has become a key distribution center for a solidarity effort following the DANA, a severe weather event that occurred two Tuesdays ago in València (Spain).
We have received two trucks carrying over 30 pallets loaded with 23,000 masks, drinking water, food, hygiene products, clothing, and other essential items. From our facilities, the Viccarbe team is responsible for managing and organizing these resources, while volunteers take care of their distribution to the most affected towns in València.
This initiative underscores our commitment to our community and demonstrates how solidarity and teamwork can make a difference in times of need. We are proud to witness the dedication and effort of everyone involved, showing that at Viccarbe, solidarity is more than just a value—it is an action.
