Self-care doesn’t need to be grand to be impactful. Here’s how I make space for self-care in small ways: 5:45 am start. My mornings begin with five minutes of calm—herbal tea, vitamins, and a moment to centre myself—before diving into treatments: an hour in the hyperbaric chamber, 15 minutes with infrared light, then a shower and off to Costa for my decaf oat milk sugar-free vanilla, home by 9:30. 1. I am grateful for each new day; tomorrow isn’t promised. 2. I’m thankful to be able to manage my treatments and drive myself to Costa—a reminder of how far I’ve come. 3. Most of all, I’m grateful to do what I love. Just being alive and working brings hope to others; if I can survive, so can anyone. Midday is for a walk with Ruby, my Frenchie, and winding down means journalling—writing out my thoughts keeps me grounded and honest, as the mind has its own way of shaping memories. 11 Intentions that I am calling into action in July 2024 ⭐ "Intentions" are a stepping stone. Unless you intend, you don't act! & unless you act, you don't achieve. 11. Have the world's most beautiful relationship with myself. 10. Focus on "forgetting" & "forgiveness" for my own well-being. 9. Go back to yoga, embrace the mat without taking any pressure. 8. Make nutrition and healthy eating a priority, a lifestyle. 7. Write for beyond money and clients. Write for my passion. Fuel my soul. 6. Read. Books, Blogs, Articles, News, Reports just about anything, but read. 5. Practice Gratitude, Affirmations, Journaling, & Count my Blessings Consciously. 4. Learn something new, something as basic as chopping veggies or organizing my work desk works too. Learning = A mixed bag of professional & personal learning. 3. Hydrate! Consciously drink more water. 2. Reduce Mindless Scrolling. Avoid the phone before bed and first thing on waking up. 1. Try my best to follow all the above without getting too hard on myself ❤️ August is my birthday month. My life in the last 3 years has been a rollercoaster in terms of caring for myself, physically and mentally.
