#ChildrensRights Nearly 3 out of 5 children globally facing physical punishment at home, making it the most widespread form of violence against children. Research from the World Health Organization indicates that rather than improving behavior, such punishment often leads to more behavioral issues over time. To prevent corporal punishment, the World Health Organization advocates for increased parental support, public education, and strong protective laws. Together, we can build a world where children grow up in safe and supportive environments, fostering healthy development and resilience. 🌍💙 #EndViolenceAgainstChildren #PositiveParenting #ChildrensRights

Australia has taken a significant step in protecting children's mental health by introducing a new law that bans social media usage for those under 16. This legislation requires platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat to verify users' ages to prevent children from accessing their services. The law aims to reduce the risks of online bullying and mental health issues among young users. Failure to comply with the age-verification requirements could result in hefty fines of up to AUD 49.5 million. Notably, the law avoids requiring government-issued ID for verification, addressing privacy concerns. Exemptions to this law include platforms like YouTube and messaging apps, which are not subject to the age restriction. This move is seen as a step towards creating a safer online environment for children. The law is expected to take effect in about 12 months, giving platforms time to implement the necessary age-verification measures. Critics argue that the law may have unintended consequences, such as pushing young people into darker, unregulated online spaces. However, proponents believe that this measure is necessary to protect children's mental health and well-being. . . . #AustraliaSocialMediaLaw #MentalHealthMatters #ChildProtection #SocialMediaSafety #OnlineBullyingPrevention #YouthMentalHealth #DigitalAgeVerification #SocialMediaRegulation #ProtectingChildrenOnline #MentalHealthAwareness #OnlineSafety #AustraliaLeadsTheWay #SocialMediaReform #ChildrensRights #MentalHealthProtection #tribunetrends

It’s Doctor Time!, a campaign by @inclusionaustralia aims to change that. The 12-month campaign is all about choosing a single date in the calendar year that’s important to a person with intellectual disability and then, using that date as a reminder for that person to do their yearly health check.
