What a day for Fiskars Group ! 🌼 🌟 🎉 It is a day to proudly celebrate 375 years of anniversary of our company – founded in 1649 in Fiskars Village, a time when many historical milestones were yet to unfold. To put this into perspective, our company predates some truly significant global events: 🔹 The United States Declaration of Independence (1776) was still 127 years away! 🔹 The French Revolution (1789), which reshaped Europe, wouldn’t happen for another 140 years. 🔹 Even electricity wouldn’t be widely used until the late 19th century! I am extremely proud of history and stories Fiskars Group is carrying; however it urges me to take a moment to look at my own heritage coming from Georgia, which has seen its own fascinating journey: 🔸 When we began in 1649, it is humbling to consider that Jvari Monastery a masterpiece of early Christian architecture, and my favorite place in Georgia, had already stood atop of its hill for over a thousands years by then. 🔸By 1649, the Georgian Kingdom had already endured centuries of invasions, yet the glorious Bagrationi dynasty was still standing, and it had been centuries since Shota Rustaveli penned his timeless epic, The Knight in the Panther’s Skin (12th century) 🔸 Only through a few decades after 1649 the first printing press in Georgia (1907) marked new era in culture and rich knowledge sharing - just as a journey of Fiskars Group, paving the way for centuries of craftsmanship and innovation.
