Following today's debate on the automotive industry and competitiveness in the European Parliament, I strongly believe that we need to focus more on the existing success stories of green growth.    Just last week at the Berlin Global Dialogue many speakers, among them Jennifer Morgan and Emmanuel Macron, reinforced the argument that a turnaround in competitiveness can only be achieved if we focus on innovative approaches.   Alpitronic is a great example for a growing company that is driving European competitiveness. Just as the Draghi report urges: Europe is a leader in #cleantech innovation - let's harness this potential.

The journey to InnoTrans 2024… …is a marathon, not a sprint! What we will show later this month at Messe Berlin is the result of a strategic journey for many years now, and I’d like to pick some of my InnoTrans highlights that helped us on the way… 😊 ⏪ InnoTrans 2010 ⭐ The debut of Vectron! I was CFO of our rolling stock division at the time, and it was busy InnoTrans also with the presentation of the ICE 3 which attracted a huge crowd. However, the understated Vectron was launched after we identified the potential growth for cross-border transport in Europe with our platform approach. It didn’t take long for our first customer (Railpool) to place an order – and I am very proud that Railpool is still our customer and still placing orders today! Earlier this year we signed a contract for up to 250 locomotives. 14 years of Vectron now… with over 1500 delivered from Allach! ⏪ InnoTrans 2012 ⭐ 100% Availability? Not quite yet, it was early days, but we presented our first steps into predictive maintenance and fault detection. We had acoustic analyses in axles that sped up the repair process in a Desiro pilot project in the UK. It improved reliability and lifecycle costs – two themes that you would hear much more about from Siemens Mobility in the future. 😉 🤝 PS: Shortly after InnoTrans 2012 we announced plans to acquire Invensys Rail for £1.7bn which helped accelerate our infrastructure business globally. 🇪🇺 - France 🇫🇷 – GERMANY 🇩🇪 – ITALY 🇮🇹 Trilateral European meeting: Competitiveness, Productivity, and Green Technologies   I had the honor of participating in the trilateral meeting of the three economy ministers Robert Habeck, Bruno Le Maire, and Adolfo Urso, bringing the perspective of the European robotics and automation industry in my capacity as Founder and Shareholder of the HAHN Automation Group, CEO & Founder of the United Robotics Group, and board member of VDMA Robotics.   The United Robotics Group, a European project with locations in Germany, France, Spain, and the USA, is committed to strengthening European tech sovereignty.   Key topics such as European energy pricing, streamlining bureaucracy, AI, harmonization, decarbonization, regulation, tax credits, and focusing instead of regulating were prominent themes brought up by industry representatives from Michelin | Schneider Electric | Heidelberg Materials | Siemens | MAN Energy Solutions | MATERRUP Ciments bas carbone | Waga Energy | Enel Group | Danieli Group | Pirelli | alpitronic .   The demographic evolution in Europe necessitates digital transformation, particularly in healthcare, where Artificial Intelligence and service robotics are crucial technologies to automate processes and alleviate labor shortages.
