PRODUCTION MANAGER: A Production Manager is a professional who oversees the production process and coordinates all activities to ensure enough resources on hand. They can plan workers' schedules, estimate costs and prepare budgets to ensure workflow meets required deadlines. A production manager plans production schedules and ensures the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment and machines. Their direction and skill set are essential for timely, on-budget and safe production of quality products and goods. Ensure employees develop skills required to identify root cause and take effective actions to resolve problems. Identify performance gaps and build improvement plans to enhance skill and capabilities within your team. Work closely with other leaders to ensure effective transitions between teams and shifts. Production supervisors are responsible for ensuring that their production teams follow safety guidelines and company standards. Some of their responsibilities include: Maintaining a safe work environment Ensuring that the work environment is safe at all times, and that employees follow safety guidelines Training new employees Consulting new employees on how to use machinery safely and follow procedures Ensuring compliance Ensuring that health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to Monitoring production Monitoring production output to ensure it meets specifications, and identifying issues and suggesting improvements Managing schedules Managing the workflow by preparing schedules and assigning responsibilities Communicating with employees Providing clear instructions, resolving conflicts, and communicating objectives to employees Preparing reports Preparing reports on performance and progress, and presenting them to senior managers Production supervisors need strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage employees and meet production goals.
