"But why? We’re a grassroots lobbying organization. Why are we spending our time on local placemaking events? Because study after study has confirmed that local events and cultural expression are the glue of the community. Socially, emotionally, and yes: economically. A community where locals don’t know their neighbors, don’t participate in local arts, and don’t take pride in their community is a community where people don’t spend their money. In other words: our disconnection from one another and from our public spaces literally make us more poor, as a community." #economicdevelopment #grassrootsaction #environmentaljustice #economicjustice #stakeholders #michiganbusiness https://lnkd.in/gYbG7eHf

Triad Season is here – are you ready? ❄️ The days are growing colder and darker in the UK, signalling that Triad season has officially arrived. Triads are the three half-hourly periods of peak electricity demand from November to February, shaping a portion of your TNUoS charges. Exporting during Triads can turn those charges into opportunities. 💸 Watch our latest video with Ashok to find out more 👇

What a project to be involved in with Snaw-naw-as (Nanoose) First Nation. Bunt is honoured to have the opportunity to be undertaking an innovative study looking into active and alternative transportation opportunities for the Island Rail Corridor, extending north-south between Victoria and Courtenay, and east-west between Nanaimo and Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. The potential opportunities for utilizing the corridor for active and alternative transportation uses could have significant benefits for the Nation, other First Nations, municipalities, and regional districts along the corridor. Active and alternative transportation opportunities could lead to improved functionality, and land-use efficiency of the corridor itself, but have economic, cultural/heritage, recreational/health, environmental, and social benefits for these communities. Bunt’s project team, based out of our Victoria office and led by Tyler Thomson, are excited to be working with the Nation and its other consulting partners to review and understand existing conditions and identify strategic active and alternative transportation opportunities along the corridor as a next step towards addressing the communities’ interests and needs. More on the wider study here: https://lnkd.in/gjH4Juye #NanooseFirstNation #TransportationStudy

Wrigcoll: Uplifting Our Community Amid Adversity in Boston In a landscape dominated by multi-million-dollar nonprofits, Wrigcoll stands as a vital force for real, community-driven change in Boston’s urban neighborhoods. While larger organizations claim to champion Black communities, their actions often tell a different story. Time and again, these powerful entities have swept the ladder out from beneath us, hindering our mission rather than helping it. Despite facing direct hostility and discrimination—including targeted attacks on our founder, Donald, and the Wrigcoll team—we remain steadfast in our commitment to uplift and protect our people. The journey hasn’t been easy. From experiencing racial discrimination to being excluded and undermined by the very organizations that claim to support our cause, Wrigcoll has withstood challenges that highlight a painful truth about Boston’s nonprofit sector. Too many so-called allies have shown themselves to be more invested in maintaining their own profits than in advancing the lives of the communities they are meant to serve. But our resilience speaks volumes. At Wrigcoll, we’re not in it for the fame or the funding—our sole purpose is to serve our community and fight for our people’s right to thrive on our own terms. Through direct cash resources, affordable housing, and local economic opportunities, we are dedicated to strengthening Boston’s historic Black neighborhoods and preserving their invaluable legacy. Join us as we move forward, facing the obstacles with resilience, and standing firm against forces that would rather see us falter than rise. https://lnkd.in/eedrmgQV #digitalmarketing #technology #creativity #futurism #people #crooks #takingfromblacks #partenships #Startup #DigitalTransformation #DonateNow #ImpactMatters #CommunityService #Philanthropy #GivingBack #SocialImpact #Volunteer #Charity #Fundraising #Hate #Office #Surburbs #Mean #Tell #Change #office #Poor #Amazon #GBFBExposed #FoodForFreeRacism #MMSFIOppression #AccountabilityForGBFB #FoodForFreeInjustice #ExposeMMSFI #GBFBDiscrimination #HoldFoodForFreeAccountable #RacismAtMMSFI #EndNonprofitRacism #RacialInjustice #BlackNonprofitExclusion #FightForEquality #StopSystemicRacism #NonprofitDiscrimination #SupportBlackNonprofits #EndRacialOppression #BlackLivesMatter #JusticeForBlackLeaders #RacialEquityNow #management #BECMAExposed #AccountabilityForBECMA #BECMAProfitOverPeople #WhereIsBECMA #BECMABetrayal #AccountabilityNow #JusticeForAll #BlackLivesMatter #BLM #SayTheirNames #BlackExcellence #BuyBlack #EndHunger #FoodSecurity #FeedingCommunities #NoOneHungry #FightHunger #FoodForAll #HungerRelief #SupportBlackBusinesses #Div #FoodForFree #Freeman #GBFB #BlackLivesMatter #BLM #Antiracism #StopRacism #Nonprofit #BostonFoodBank #HealthyBoston #FoodJustice #BostonCommunity #FeedBoston #FoodRescue #EndHungerBoston #BostonNonprofit #AI #Sustainability #MentalHealth #DiversityandInclusion #RemoteWork #Kwanzaa
