Nothing has made me more excited than working in an organization where I can experience Customer satisfaction from daily B2C interactions. That organization for me was a hotel! I enjoyed my time working at this very hotel, I started working here in November 2017. I was a 300l student at the University of Benin. At first, it was because I needed money for my fees😂 it transcended to me developing skills I never knew I had. Skills like customer/guest relations; communication; stocktaking; procurement management; staff relations etc. You may be wondering how I juggled all of this, desperation with a sprinkle of branding and a touch of grace. I sold myself during the interview like a pro😂, meanwhile I had used an SSCE qualification in my CV and that created doubts in the minds of the management. I had applied for the position of receptionist even though I knew I only had one month to work, of course that wasn't stated there. I later opened up and told them I was overqualified and that I was an undergraduate student at the “prestigious University of Benin”. This act of honesty earned me a role in housekeeping. Proud to say I was one of the pioneers of Cocobutterfly Hotel. Before the official opening of the hotel, I was reshuffled to the position of hotel secretary where I managed procurement and stocktaking. I was privileged to have secured a permanent opening at the hotel for whenever I was on holiday or when I graduate. Through this, I worked in different roles until I landed in the lounge as a bartender. Here you go, a hotelier with over 5 years of experience. Transitioned from Hotels to Rental Apartments. Takeout? Yes! 📌 It doesn't matter how you start, make sure to find a redefining moment for yourself. 📌 You may have to juggle different roles before you find your place. 📌 Learn to love what you do if for no better reasons but for the fact that it gives you a sense of satisfaction (if it does) or because it pays your bills. #hospitality #hotel #propertymanagement

It's been two weeks since i started my Butler cross exposure training, i believe taking these trainings makes you a better service professional because you will make decisions from an informed point of view. Being a butler is like being the whole Hotel, you are a boutique of services that the guest can enjoy, whether it's food service, wine selection, shoe shining, room cleaning, packing and unpacking, scheduling appointments or travel arrangements and so many more, they are all a text or call a way and sometimes delivered unexpectedly with passion. In the two weeks so far i have been training, i have seen myself in a position where I'm rich with ideas and knowledge that will assist me in day to day efficient execution of my tasks which is so crucial today in the ever changing and demanding hospitality industry. In my career so far i have worked as a waiter, Receptionist and now as a housekeeping Order Taker/ Coordinator, adding Butler knowledge/ experience move me closer to a complete all round hotelier. Do you think working in different departments is better or focusing on one job is? Which training do you think i should take next? #Butler #Luxuryservice #Training #Selfdevelopment

Adapting to Challenges: A Night Auditor’s Perspective Not every job is easy or comfortable, and being a night auditor in the hotel industry exemplifies this truth. The role requires balancing financial accuracy, guest relations, and operational efficiency during the quiet hours when most of the world is asleep. It’s a job filled with challenges, but with a positive mindset and unwavering dedication, I’ve learned to excel in this unique position. As a night auditor, my responsibilities go beyond reconciling financial transactions and preparing reports. I am also tasked with ensuring the safety and satisfaction of guests, addressing concerns, and maintaining the seamless operation of the hotel. The nocturnal schedule and solitude can initially feel isolating, but I’ve embraced the quiet as an opportunity to focus and grow. The challenges are real—working late hours, managing complex systems, and being the sole decision-maker during emergencies. However, I’ve adapted by cultivating a strong sense of responsibility and resilience. Each night, I remind myself of the importance of my work. The financial reports I prepare and the operational checks I perform are integral to the success of the hotel. This awareness motivates me to approach my tasks with precision and care. Dedication has been my guiding principle. By fully committing to my responsibilities, I’ve developed the skills to navigate the intricacies of the role efficiently. Over time, I’ve learned to manage stress, remain calm under pressure, and find fulfillment in my contributions. Knowing that my work ensures a smooth start to the day for both the team and our guests is deeply satisfying. This role has also taught me invaluable life lessons. I’ve learned the importance of adaptability, the strength that comes from resilience, and the reward of performing my duties with integrity. These lessons extend beyond the workplace, enriching my personal growth and perspective. Night auditing may not be an easy job, but it is undoubtedly a meaningful one. By embracing its challenges and performing with dedication, I’ve found fulfillment in knowing my efforts make a difference. With the right mindset, even the most demanding roles can become rewarding journeys of growth and purpose. #nightauditor

The hotel night audit process ensures daily financial balance for hotel operations. This task, managed by a night auditor, typically begins around 1:00 A.M. when transactions slow. The auditor starts with a preliminary reconciliation, calculating total revenue from rooms, taxes, banquets, food, and other services. Errors are investigated, adjustments are made, and totals for credit card charges and departmental charges are verified. The "date is rolled" to move operations to the next business day, and remaining charges are posted. Discrepancies are flagged for shift managers, while backup reports are prepared for system reliability. Night auditors reconcile accounts and ensure departmental charges appear on guest folios, producing a daily report to monitor hotel performance. Key performance indicators like Average Daily Rate (ADR) and Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) assess the hotel's financial health, providing valuable insights into operational success. #pubilic_investment_Fund #Oxagon #Magna #Sindalah #Enowa #Topina #neom #Diriyahgate #saudiarabia #vision2030 #saudiprojects #projects #redsea #architecture #sea #redseaglobal #LuxuryTravel #RedSea #saudi #redseaglobal #saudivision #resort #Hotel #hospitality #saudihotel #taiba_investments #Qiddiya #Sindalah
