AI's application in healthcare allows access to sensitive personal information. However, the complexity of the newer AI technologies has obvious challenges, such as understanding the intricacy associated with working with them, infrastructure, affordability, and patient comprehension. Still, one thing worth noting is that every industry has been going through transformation stage since the invention of newer technologies, and healthcare is no exception. Healthcare practitioners in developing countries should embrace and encourage the adoption of AI in healthcare, as it will help them transform the way their data is generated, stored, and collected. Compared to traditional treatment methods, AI helps detect and prevent the spreading of diseases. It will improve the overall health outcomes of the populations in developing countries and make patients' data available, which will support healthcare professionals in taking the proper steps to prevent illnesses. #viralpost #AI #Machinelearning #developingcountries #telemedicine #AIimpactonhealthcareworker #healthprofessionals #policyontheuseofAI #ethicaluseofAI

"What AI Should Never Do in Healthcare—And Where It Can Help" 🏥🤖 AI is revolutionizing healthcare, from speeding up diagnoses to predicting future health risks. At Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Daniel Yang leads efforts to harness AI’s potential. For instance, AI can now analyze complex medical images in seconds and even predict heart attacks before symptoms appear. However, there are clear boundaries AI should respect. AI should not replace the essential human touch in patient care, nor should it operate without careful oversight. While AI can process data rapidly, the nuances of empathy, context, and trust remain firmly in the hands of healthcare professionals. The role of AI should be to support, not substitute, human expertise. As we integrate AI into healthcare, let’s focus on how it can enhance our abilities while maintaining the core values of care. #AI #Healthcare #Ethics #Innovation #MedTech #DigitalHealth #HealthTech #SR360 Follow my LinkedIn page for more insights, and feel free to contact me for further discussions or inquiries: Shankar Ramaswami[https://lnkd.in/ge92Tb88]. As an AI expert, I'm continually amazed by the transformative impact of artificial intelligence in healthcare. From analyzing chest x-rays to predicting disease outbreaks, AI is revolutionizing how we approach diagnosis, treatment, and resource allocation. 🏥🤖 The ability of AI to detect TB, identify fractures, and recognize symptoms with high accuracy is not just impressive – it's life-saving. Early detection means earlier treatment, and that can make all the difference. But it doesn't stop there. AI's capacity to manage vast amounts of patient data and optimize resource allocation is addressing some of healthcare's most pressing challenges. We're seeing more efficient, more accurate, and more accessible healthcare thanks to these innovations. What excites you most about AI in healthcare? GPT diagnosed me in 20 seconds. I understand the frustration of waiting years for a diagnosis too closely. but.. AI technology is rapidly advancing. Decision support systems have the potential to aid doctors and provide quicker diagnoses. However, we must proceed cautiously. These systems are promising but not foolproof. Doctors must review and confirm any AI-suggested diagnoses. We don't want patients panicking or self-medicating based on incorrect AI assessments. The key is finding the right balance - harnessing the potential of AI to expedite the diagnostic process while keeping the human doctor at the center to provide wisdom and oversight. With the right guidelines and transparency around AI's capabilities, we can enhance healthcare while ensuring safety. AI has been consistently rising in every sector, but will it cause more damage than it's worth? ECRI, an organization focused on patient safety, ranked artificial intelligence (AI) fifth among the top 10 health technology hazards. They expressed concerns about AI's potential risks in healthcare, particularly in diagnosis and decision-making. He highlighted the challenges of biased algorithms, insufficient diversity in testing, and the need for more stringent regulation from the FDA. With so much hype around AI in healthcare, it takes an expert to identify where the rubber meets the road. That’s why we gathered four of the brightest minds on the matter for a panel at InterSystems #GlobalSummit24. It was enlightening to discuss the issue with experts from payer, provider, and government - Dr. CT Lin MD, FACP, FAMIA , Dr. Yaa Kumah-Crystal, MD MPH FAMIA, Laurent Rotival, and the national coordinator for health IT, Micky Tripathi. In a panel on operationalizing AI, they discussed their perspectives on how healthcare organizations should approach AI adoption. Key takeaways include: • Define the problem and think big: Rushing into development before clarifying the challenge leads to small solutions. • Balance enthusiasm with guardrails: Optimism encourages innovation, but we must avoid turning AI into a free-for-all where anything goes. • Keep humans in the loop: Training experts to partner with AI will minimize risks and ensure the technology delivers the best outcomes. This only scratches the surface of what we covered. Watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/eTUQZWTv #healthcareIT #healthcareinnovation #healthcare #AI
