Passion... We are all born and live searching for passion. It wasn't until my final year of undergrad that I realized exactly what my passion was: educating others. I immediately enrolled in a PGCE program. I completed it in a year and started working as a primary school teacher. One year later, I moved to a junior high, and for the past three years, I've been teaching at a high school. Malcolm X said, "Education is the passport to our future." This passion continues to grow as I shape minds of different ages, which still excites me. The rush I get from sharing knowledge and engaging with new teaching material is invigorating. As an educator, learning is a lifelong journey. Then, I was introduced to an amazing business opportunity where I can create a recurring income asset base for myself and my family. The skills I've developed in education are equally valuable here. Instead of educating 18-year-olds on Shakespearean literature and poetry, I now educate South Africans of all ages, starting at 18, on how to achieve financial stability within the South African economic context. Education brings out the light in me, whether I'm teaching teenagers about English literature or adults about securing their financial futures. #keepeducationalive #lifelonglearning #opportunities #businessmindsetthrougheducation

"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." - Malcolm X. Malcolm X, a figure in the civil rights movement, made significant contributions to education; despite facing numerous challenges and obstacles in his own education due to systemic racism, Malcolm X recognized the power of learning and through his autobiography and speeches, he encouraged individuals, particularly those from marginalized communities, to pursue education. His emphasis on self-reliance and intellectual growth inspired generations to take control of their own destinies through education. His legacy continues to resonate today, reminding us of the enduring value of education as a tool for personal empowerment. This quote aligns with Instilt Educate's cause and mission to fight educational inequality through online English tutoring for students who might be less fortunate than others. Like Malcolm X, Instilt Educate understands that education is not only a fundamental right but also a powerful tool for social change. By providing access to quality education, Instilt Educate aims to equip underprivileged students with the knowledge and skills they need to overcome barriers and seize opportunities for a better future. #instilt #malcolmx #malcolm #education #instilteducate #educate #english #tutoring #online e#tutor #educational

I'm often asked the question, 'What makes Lexis Education courses so successful?' I think that one of the biggest reasons is that we're a small company and we truly care about outcomes for the schools we support. Our work doesn't end as soon as the tutor training ends, we're always there to provide ongoing support for teachers who have completed our courses and for their schools. It's also because our courses are well researched and rigourous, and they're written by two great minds of Australian #literacy #education, Brian Dare and John Polias. Here's an outline of what to expect if you take one of our Tutor Training courses: By undertaking our Tutor Training courses, you will learn: 📚 how student literacy is a capacity for making meaning across the whole curriculum, predominantly through language and visuals 📚the ways that language underpins learning 📚 teaching practices that address student literacy and learning needs in a holistic and explicit manner 📚 positive strategies for self-reflection and self-appraisal 📚 ways to develop collaborative working relationships with other teachers across subject areas 📚 how to pass on your new understanding and skills to your whole school. 𝕊𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕨𝕖 𝕝𝕖𝕥 𝕚𝕥 𝕓𝕖?🤔 Hey, Educator! 🙂 From an account on X, called 'Fixing Education'. Do you agree?👇🏾 "OᑎE Oᖴ TᕼE ᗷIGGEST ISSᑌES Iᑎ EᗪᑌᑕᗩTIOᑎ... Should we let this go on?🇳🇬 Shouldn't we stop wailing, whimpering, and wallowing in the pain and losses of the colonial era? Aren't we perpetuating colonialism by prepping our learners to see 𝘫𝘢𝘱𝘢 as the 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 way to achieve their dreams? Are we actually ready for the educational system of our dreams? Our policy on education has admirable intentions, but we need a revamped curriculum to drive it. We need it like yesterday! The fear is that many educators aren't even t̶r̶a̶i̶n̶e̶d̶ expected to ask questions and this trickles down to the learners. The result: a country whose boast is in what their citizens achieve abroad! Not nice. As hard-working and thoughtful experts in pedagogy/andragogy look forward to the end of the academic year, spare a thought for those facing assessment submissions around the winter break. If short on reading material but long on time between mince pies (well 15 minutes) this handy history of grades might appeal. It traces the roots of grading back to English universities, where they were initially designed to motivate students. As compulsory education expanded in the 19th century, grades became tools for both encouragement and coercion, with low marks used as a form of social control. It's a rollercoaster ride of the intentions with all the ups and downs through history applicable to early years right through HE. Maybe print it off, wrap it up, and use it as a training document for old-school paper document readers. I can guarantee that this will not disappoint. Educators have so much to do but change is necessary. #historyofgrades #grading #ungrading #academicintegrity #timetochange

Meet our academic tutor Sabina Shahi. Sabina received a First Class BA from the University of Durham in History, and now tutors out students in English, Humanities and Mathematics. ❓What is your educational philosophy? I believe every child can achieve ✅academic success with the right support. Study skills can be learned and it’s part of my role as a tutor to teach these important skills. ❓What brought you to tutoring? Throughout Sixth Form, I mentored struggling younger students and discovered that lack of confidence is a huge barrier for students. My aim to help children gain confidence, as well as my personal passion for education and work experience with children, made tutoring a natural choice. ❓How do you engage with your students? My students know they can freely express their thoughts and concerns about their academics and extracurricular activities. This allows me to individually tailor lessons to suit their needs and interests to be more engaging for them. ❓What are some common issues facing 🇭🇰Hong Kong students? Navigating 🎓university and college applications while maintaining good grades and extracurricular activities is challenging. It’s always helpful to have an independent advisor helping them get through the application process. 👉To arrange tuition with Sabina, or any of our other tutors, email enquiries@bartyed.com to tell us how we can support you. #onlinetuition #educationalconsultant #tutor #tutors #tutoringservices #privatetutor #studentsuccess #academicsuccess #studentsupport #internationalschool #hongkong #hongkongbusiness #bartyeducation

The Need for Competent and Empathetic Educators in Our Schools 📚👩🏫 As a fourth-year Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English student, I've had the opportunity to learn from many instructors, each with their own unique teaching styles. Unfortunately, not all experiences have been positive, and it's crucial to address the importance of having competent and empathetic teachers in our educational system. 🌟 Recently, my classmates and I encountered a challenging situation with one of our instructors. Despite approaching her with genuine and respectful feedback on how her teaching methods could be improved, she responded defensively and took it personally. Instead of reflecting on our concerns, she created a set of "commandments" that essentially demanded our complete submission, stifling any chance for constructive dialogue. 😕 We believed that our concerns were valid and necessary for our academic growth, so we took the matter to the school president. Sadly, no action was taken, and the situation remained unchanged. 😔 This experience has underscored the urgent need for educators who are not only knowledgeable but also open to feedback and willing to grow. Students deserve teachers who foster an environment of mutual respect and continuous improvement, rather than one dominated by ego and defensiveness. 🌱 Competent teachers are essential for nurturing the next generation of learners. It's time for educational institutions to prioritize hiring and retaining educators who are committed to personal and professional growth, and who understand the impact they have on their students' lives. 🌍 Let's advocate for a better future in education, where every student feels heard, valued, and inspired to learn. 📖✨ #Education #Teaching #StudentVoice #EmpathyInEducation #FutureTeachers
