🚀 Day 1 of HACKATHONAMRING®2024 is off to an incredible start! 🚀 We kicked off with the Zukunftsforum EmEye-T®, engaging in insightful discussions with EmEye-T® users, followed by a dynamic start to the hackathon challenge: "A product in 24 hours." Great to see the UK RLN Hackathon videos are up. Some really innovative ideas become possible if there is a single API for money across the entire market, covering all forms of money and all types of ledger. Examples explored in the videos include: * notifications for carers/guardians when vulnerable adults spend money, without everybody having to use the same bank (yes - the banks are liable for push payment fraud in any case, but the sooner you know it's happened the sooner you can get it sorted) * a way for new 'gig economy' (eg food delivery) services to get up and running without having to incur the risk/complexity of taking control of all the cash (using advanced locking techniques, again irrespective of which banks the various parties use) * using a reliable locking mechanism to imagine a path to GBP-backed stablecoins (not sure anybody expected that particular pitch in advance... 🤣 ) And a bunch more. I was really surprised/excited by the range of ideas, and the quality of the presentations. Well worth a watch.
