As healthcare professionals, we often focus on answering questions during interviews. But here's the truth: asking the RIGHT questions can be just as crucial for finding your perfect nursing role. Key questions that could make or break your next opportunity: • Nurse-to-patient ratios and safety protocols • Mentorship and orientation programs • Career advancement pathways • Work-life balance initiatives • Continuing education support Remember: An interview is a two-way conversation. You're not just seeking a job—you're finding a workplace that aligns with your values and career goals.

ATTENTION!! WALKIN INTERVIEWS FOR DOCTORS AND NURSES!! In recent months, I've noticed a surge in advertisements for walk-in interviews. However, it's disheartening to see healthcarecprofessionals standing in long lines under the scorching sun—especially given the hot and humid weather in the Gulf—only to be crammed into a small space, where they are ultimately informed that they should submit their CVs that only those who are selected will be contacted, eventhough small numbes gets interview asking about their visa and experience. If this is the expected outcome, why invite candidates to travel from far away with the hope of securing a job, only to leave them disappointed, wasting their time and efforts to reach? This entire process of collecting CVs could easily be transitioned to an online format, utilizing email submissions and an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) for filtering like what most respectable institutes do now days . Such a change would alleviate the burden on both recruiters and job seekers. What is needed is better planning, professionalism, and a touch of humanity.

You have been selected! What next? Accepting the interview link is your second step towards a new opportunity. But before you get to the point where you sigh with relief and think "the job is mine," you will first climb several hurdles. Preparation is key, and for many nurses, one of the biggest challenges is learning to have a conversation online. Anxiety often becomes the order of the day. Getting prepared starts with understanding the interview process and allowing it to go naturally. Know about the organization that is interviewing you. Familiarize yourself with their core values and think about how they align with yours. This knowledge will help you tailor your responses and show that you are a good fit for the team. When responding to questions, see the interviewer as a friend. This mindset can ease nervousness and help you communicate more effectively. Understand the questions being asked, and don’t hesitate to ask for clarification if needed. Respond as if you are having a casual conversation, making the interaction more comfortable and authentic. For example, if one of the organization's core values is innovation, you might discuss your experiences that reflect this value. You could mention any initiatives you've led, like organizing training sessions for fellow nurses, participating in community health projects, or developing new protocols in your previous roles. Be confident in yourself. Avoid distractions and maintain good eye contact with the interviewer. Avoid looking at your notes too frequently. Don’t overthink the questions, answer scenario questions as you would handle them back in your country. By aligning your values with those of the organization, preparing thoroughly, and approaching the interview as a natural conversation, you can effectively climb the hurdles and move closer to securing the job. Rooting for you! P:S- What interview skills do you know? please share in the comment. #CareerGrowth #CareerDevolopmet #Nursing
