According to Anita Balakrishnan of The Logic, Canada is nearing its decision on new critical minerals list. As quoted in this article, let's go #phosphate, #apatite from pure Canadian igneous source for #lfpbattery in North America ! Quebec has recently added it, time for Canada to support our only province with massive reserves of some of the world's cleanest source igneous apatite. https://lnkd.in/ePfgs-8Y

American Mineralogist: Louisfuchsite, Ca2(Mg4Ti2)(Al4Si2)O20, a new rhönite-type mineral from the NWA 4964 CK meteorite: A refractory phase from the solar nebula Chi Ma, Alexander N. Krot, Kazuhide Nagashima, and Tasha Dunn https://lnkd.in/gUTrXAYs Louisfuchsite is a new member of the rhönite subgroup under the sapphirine supergroup. It crystallized from an 16O-rich refractory melt under reduced conditions, among the first solid materials to occur in the solar nebula. It joins the 50+ refractory minerals identified in carbonaceous chondrites, marking the beginning of mineral evolution in the solar system.

what is Crude Monazite? Monazite is a rare phosphate mineral with a chemical composition of (Ce, La, Nd, Th) (PO4, SiO4). It usually occurs in small isolated grains, as an accessory mineral in igneous and metamorphic rocks such as granite, pegmatite, schist, and gneiss. These grains are resistant to weathering and become concentrated in soils and sediments downslope from the host rock. When in high enough concentrations, they are mined for their rare earth and thorium content. Applications and uses of monazite and rare earth elements (REEs) : The escalating demand of rare earth metals (REMs) in various applications & their depleting ores have encouraged the possibility to produce metals from their complex resources. Possibly the commercial processes based on pyro–hydro or hybrid techniques as well as systematic research for process development to recover rare earth from monazite. Thorium Energy : • Thorium is estimated to be 3-4 times more abundant than uranium & is one of the most energy dense elements found in nature.

In certain cases, it is even seen as a challenge in the gold concentration process, as tantalum particles have the ability to make gold float and, consequently, be lost. In a test I conducted, I used small magnets to remove the excess of iron and ilmenite (Fe2O3+TiO2) generally at 2500 gauss magnetic. Then, I employed more powerful magnets of 5000-7000 gauss to attract the tantalum and niobium ores, which have low magnetism. This way, we can isolate the silica (Sio2) containing numerous gold points. One of the great advantages of finding these associated ores is the added value it brings to production. Through a process of rock grinding, centrifuges, jig concentrators, wash tables, drying, and magnetic separation, it is possible to obtain high-quality tantalum ore, with a content exceeding 30% of Ta2O5, while preserving the gold. Larger granular particles are retained and concentrated in jig concentrators, while finer particles are concentrated on wash tables, centrifuges, and sometimes spirals. This association of ores is notable in several regions of Brazil, including Pará, Mato Grosso, Amapá, Roraima, Goiás, and Paraíba. Furthermore, I have observed similar situations in the English Guiana, which borders Roraima, and even in the vicinity of Suriname. #mining #geologia #geology #tantalum #niobium #coltan #capacitors #neodymium #monazite #rareearth #ree #RareEarths #REE #Titanium #Exploration #Brazil #supplychain #mineração #mining #mineralexploration #explorationgeologists #neodymium #monazite

Map of Rare Earthe Element mineral deposit types and advanced-stage exploration projects in EU and Greenland (Source: EURARE; ERECON; FRAME). The exploitable resources of rare earths in the Kvanefjeld, Kringlerne, and Norra Kärr deposits can alone supply Europe's needs for decades to come. The Swedish iron miner LKAB reported that, more than one million tons of rare earth metals, in the form of Rare Earth Oxides will be produced as by-products from apatite, together with phosphorus, in the Per Geijer/Kiruna iron oxide –apatite (IOA) deposit.

BRINE CHEMISTRY LITHIUM IS KNOWN TO OCCUR IN MANY BRINES OR WATERS, BUT USUALLY AT LOW CONCENTRATIONS. TO BECOME ECONOMIC, THESE LITHIUM-BEARING BRINES GENERALLY NEED TO BE FURTHER CONCENTRATED BY EVAPORATION. DEPOSITS LITHIUM IS EXTRACTED FROM TWO MAIN CATEGORIES OF DEPOS- ITS: MINERALS AND BRINES. IN TERMS OF MINERALS, CURRENTLY LITHIUM IS EXTRACTED ONLY FROM PEGMATITE DEPOSITS BUT FUTURE SOURCES ARE LIKELY TO INCLUDE DEPOSITS OF HECTORITE AND JADARITE. MAJOR DEPOSIT CLASSES MINERALS, THOSE FOR OBTAINING LITHIUM 1. DEPOSIT TYPE - PEGMATITES BRIEF DESCRIPTION - COARSE-GRAINED IGNEOUS ROCK FORMED DURING LATE-STAGE CRYSTALLISATION OF MAGMAS. TYPICAL GRADE - 1.5–4% LI2O EXAMPLES - GREENBUSHES, AUSTRALIA; NORTH CAROLINA, USA; BIKITA, ZIMBABWE 2. DEPOSIT TYPE - HECTORITE BRIEF DESCRIPTION - LENSES OF SMECTITE CLAY IN ASSOCIATION WITH VOLCANIC CENTRES TYPICAL GRADE - - 0.4% LI2O EXAMPLE - KINGS VALLEY, NEVADA, USA; SONORA, MEXICO 3. DEPOSIT TYPE - JADARITE BRIEF DESCRIPTION - ALTERED SEDIMENTS IN AN ENCLOSED BASIN TYPICAL GRADE - 1.5% LI2O EXAMPLE - JADAR, SERBIA
