The "July Effect" is here again! This phenomenon points to the increase in medical errors and complications with the influx of newly graduated medical students starting their residencies in teaching hospitals each July. While research results vary, patient safety remains a crucial concern during this transition period. The importance of robust training, supervision, and standardized protocols is emphasized to ensure new residents deliver high-quality care from day one. Addressing the July effect is key to improving patient outcomes and instilling confidence in healthcare systems. Although this concept may be new to some, systematic literature reviews have delved into its details. While evidence on its benefits or drawbacks is inconclusive, its impact on medical data quality, patient outcomes, and treatment patterns cannot be overlooked. Share your thoughts in the comments below. Have you encountered the July effect before? Let's discuss! #julyeffect #medicalschool #scientificwriting

Medicine has always been a constantly evolving field. The frequency is even intense nowadays as almost every day we get informed about some new research, technologies, and treatment approaches. The American Medical Association (AMA) has even pointed out that physicians found regularly engaging in continuing medical education (CME) activities are the ones that consistently demonstrate better patient outcomes. Another study has linked CME participation to 30% reduction in patient mortality rates. Medisys is empathic to the importance most medical professionals place towards lifelong learning. This has made us design specialised CME courses that help physicians stay at the forefront of medical advancements. We believe our courses can empower you to provide the best possible care for your patients. Our courses are comprehensive, covering a wide range of topics that equip you with the knowledge on latest treatments while providing all the latest guidelines and best practices. Partnering with Medisys can be your investment towards professional growth while ensuring that your clinical practice continues to thrive even within the ever-changing healthcare landscape. As my MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice ramps up with dissertation time, I have decided to explore paramedics and pre hospital medical providers skills in recognition of critically ill patients. In particular, I am interested in clinical intuition, gestalt, and essentially the use of 'system one' Vs 'system two' in quickly assessing a critical patient, bypassing all the various tools such as NEWS scores etc, which require time in obtain vitals etc. Guts feeling......intuition.....feeling....how do we quantify it? Can we teach it? What is your experience? #MSc #advancedclinicalpractice #ACP #paramedic

Standardizing education starts by exposing all your students to the same clinical conditions, a strategy that is not possible if we only consider real patients. With Body Interact's clinical scenarios, you can promote individual or team practice. 👩🎓 Challenge students with the same virtual patients and promote class discussion on how to effectively treat them.
