🎆🌟 As we all look forward to a spectacular 4th of July, Billings Clinic Bozeman encourages everyone to celebrate with safety and joy! Here are our tips to ensure a safe holiday for both children and adults: 🧨 Fireworks Safety: Always supervise children with fireworks. Adults should handle the setup and lighting, ensuring everyone stays at a safe distance. Consider safer alternatives like glow sticks for little ones. 🍔 Grilling Safely: Keep your grill at a safe distance from houses and trees, and never leave it unattended. Educate children on maintaining a safe perimeter around the cooking area. 🌞 Sun Protection: In our beautiful Montana sun, remember to apply SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and find shade during peak hours to prevent sunburns. 💧 Hydration is Key: Stay hydrated with plenty of water, and remember that alcohol can dehydrate. Keep drinking water, especially if you’re managing the grill or fireworks. 🏊 Water Safety: If you’re near water, ensure children are always watched by an adult. Swimming lessons and life jackets are great ways to enhance safety. 🍲 Food Safety Tips: Keep perishable items chilled, and always separate raw meats from other foods to avoid cross-contamination. 🐕 Pet Care: Keep pets safe from the noise in a quiet, secure indoor spot. This helps prevent them from getting scared and trying to escape. From all of us at Billings Clinic Bozeman, have a joyful and safe Independence Day! 🎇✨

Safety is always a priority at camp, for #NationalSafetyMonth we’re highlighting what this looks like in action: 🥽 Supervision: From full-time staff to seasonal team to volunteers, everyone providing supervision receives trauma-informed care, ratio and supervision training, as well as training on techniques for camper behaviors and orientation on emergency procedures to ensure campers are in good hands at camp. 👩⚕️ Health Checks & Food Safety: Campers' medical information is received and reviewed before they get to camp. While on-site, we maintain safe, equitable food options for every kid, including keeping camp nut and latex-free. 🙌 Support: Camp’s psychosocial team gives campers techniques to understand and cope with their emotions. 🫱🏾🫲🏻 Buddy System: FHF maintains a “three’s company” ratio to make sure campers are always accompanied safely. ☎️ Communication: Team stays in constant contact with each other through phones and radios. Camp culture also maintains a robust incident reporting system that further reduces risk to campers. 🚑 Emergency Preparedness: All seasonal and full-time team are CPR-certified before camp season. Additionally, safe shelters are at the ready for weather needs. We’ve got the ultimate safety plans ready to go. 🏆 Uphold Excellence: High standards ensure FHF meets government and accreditation protocols, as well as medical licensing standards - including those set by the SeriousFun Network, Association for Challenge Course Technologies, and the American Camping Association. How often should I give my pet Coffee wood chews? The frequency of giving your pet Coffee wood chews depends on their individual needs and chewing habits. Dogs are natural chewers, and a good 20 minute chew session is a great stress reliever and source of entertainment too. As a general guideline, we recommend offering our chews as part of your pet's daily routine and always under supervision. However, you know your pet best, so feel free to adjust the frequency and the type of chews you offer your pet based on their preferences, size, chew strength, and behavior.

In the summer, you need to give your dog a ventilated, cool environment. Be especially careful not to leave your dog alone on a balcony or in a car! When leaving your dog home alone, don't forget to turn on the fan or air conditioner, especially if your dog needs to spend the hottest part of the day alone. 1. Ensure water supply Especially in the summer, pay attention to whether your dog's birdbath has enough fresh drinking water. For dogs, the best drinking water is cold, no need to prepare cold water and hot water for dogs according to seasonal changes. Because too cold water will irritate the stomach, too hot water will irritate the mouth, room temperature water is the best. 2. Shave in moderation Remember not to shave too short, in the outdoor skin directly exposed to the sun, can cause serious damage to the skin, and increase the probability of skin disease and skin cancer. Shave your hair at home and sleep in an air-conditioned room to catch cold. 3. Focus on your diet Whether feeding homemade dog food or dry pet food, pay attention to freshness. Feed homemade dog food as soon as possible after cooking and cooling, otherwise bacteria will multiply. Keep dry pet food in a cool, dry place. Throw away an uneaten meal. The dog eats half of the food, which is covered with saliva and goes bad soon in the summer. 4. Insect repellent Before summer comes, owners need to do internal and external deworming for their dogs. In the summer, there will be insects in the grass, so try not to let the dog into the deep grass drill, pay attention to the ear, crotch and other skin bare places, if you find that the dog is bitten by insects, immediately go to the doctor. 5. Take a walk on a wrong peak The best time to walk your dog in summer is before 8 am and after sunset in the evening. In summer, the sun is hot, and dogs walking in the sun are easy to overheat and get sunstroke. And after the sun shines for a period of time, the road will be very hot PAWS, and in serious cases, the dog's PAWS will be burned. I wish every pet a happy summer. 😘
