We’ve accomplished a lot at First United Church Community Ministry Society but we know there is still more to do. We’re led by a vision where everybody’s worth is celebrated, and all people thrive. We’re guided by these principles to get there through dignity, belonging, and justice. When we say dignity, we’re talking about respect, basic needs and human rights. When we talk about belonging, we’re talking about creating safer spaces where everyone feels welcome and there’s no judgement and no stigma. When talking about justice, we’re talking about systemic change and breaking the cycles of poverty. That’s what we’re trying to accomplish, and we know we do not do this work alone. We can’t do this without you. Through your faithfulness, finances, time, and support, you’re helping guide us to get to these places. And we’re led with so much hope. We know that in 2025 we’re going to accomplish even more things together. I am so humbled that I get to say this to you here today: Merry Christmas, and see you next year. Parking lot exit sign at Tampa’s Messiah Lutheran Church. As their service ends and individuals leave the church parking lot, a powerful reminder resonates: "You are entering the mission field." This statement carries profound meaning, urging everyone to recognize that their faith extends beyond the walls of the church and into the world around them. Just beyond church parking lots, every day presents an opportunity to embody the values of love, compassion, and service, preached within the church by Messiah’s Pastor, Mark Adrian. That the mission field is not just a distant place; it is the neighborhood, the workplace, and the community where everyday interactions occur. Each person can have influence by spreading kindness and understanding in their daily lives. For individuals leaving Messiah Lutheran’s church parking lot, embracing the idea of entering the mission field can inspire a commitment to service and compassion. It is a reminder that living out one’s faith happens every day, in every interaction. Recognizing the suffering face of Christ in all we encounter. Together, by spreading love and kindness, everyone can help create ‘heaven on earth’ —brighter and more caring neighborhoods, communities, and world. Dorothy Day Tampa – mission field laborers.

Good business leaders know you lead by example. You put the people first. Humility is the best leadership skill and you serve the people you lead - and Jimmy Carter served people, he served America, until he was literally too weak to lift a hammer to help build another home. A huge difference from anything president-elect Trump has ever done or said. Humble leaders who serve the people are what make America great.
“He was a man whose life and actions showed an exemplary dedication to the ideals of faith, justice, public service, peace, and the care of the most vulnerable.” - Jim Williams, President and CEO #HonoringCarter https://lnkd.in/gh96UHZG

Hello All, Let's get real. This project is another masterpiece of Mr. Steven Levene/COO of Metrolinx. The steel span Through Plate Girder over existing Tracks at Newmarket 4.90 Davenport has many structural concerns. Mr. steven leven/(current COO of Metrolinx/ by then VP of RailCiorridor) decided to create a Risk Assessment Team Meeting (on Friday, June 4, 2021 1:30 PM-3:30 PM, ) and chaired this Team meeting. Created +/-35 pages of check marks, and he concluded that: all are good, the Case Closed! The above case was opened by an engineer (Name DELETED] of RailCorridor to begin with. the steel span was a Through Plate Girder, TPG, +/-100 ft long, double track, and amazingly, Direct Fixation. Why Direct Fixation instead of Ballasted Deck? Everyone knows that Direct Fixation will reduce the life-span of the bridge from +100 years to around 30 years. well Metrolinx has the answer!!! Also, the girders have top and bottom flange splices, as well as web splices exactly at the same location: one series on the North side of the span and one series on the south side. the above splices means that the weakest point of the top flange is aligned with the weakest point of the web and aligned with the weakest point of bottom flange, at two separate locations, one on the North side and one on the south side. you do the math!!! If you want more information, please let me know. Also, on September 18th and 19th, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky, during the Arema Annual Conference, Metrolinx gave a presentation regarding the elevated bridge at Davenport Diamond, Newmarket sub/MX, and New Toronto Sub/(of a real railway). Ironically, Metrolinx did not talk about this portion (steel double track TOG crossing over the existing tracks of another railway) of the project. the bridge designer was not part of the presenter team. The bridge contractor was not part of the presenter team. I doubt that there was even a representative of the actual designer and the actual contractor team at Arema 2024. The people at the Arema Conf. 2024 were asking why? Well, the answer is: there is a series of serious issues with that steel span bridge over the New Toronto Tracks. Stay tuned for more info. @phil verster /CEO Metrolinx Steven Levene/ COO Metrolinx Metrolinx regards Siamak Khajehpour, P.Eng.
Thank you, Davenport community! Join us for ice cream and a visit from GO Bear this Sunday, September 15 from 1-4pm at Campbell Park as we express our gratitude for your support while we completed important Davenport Diamond rail intersection improvements in your neighbourhood.
