Start Preparing Now for #GivingTuesday #GivingTuesday may seem like it's still weeks away, but if you're not preparing now, you might miss out on a significant fundraising opportunity. This global day of giving is your chance to make a big impact, but only if you're ready. Here’s how to ensure your organization is set for success: Update Your Materials: Refresh your website, annual reports, and marketing materials. Your message should be clear, compelling, and aligned with your year-end goals. Prepare Your Campaign: Work on creating graphics and content for your social media and website. Make sure everything is ready to roll out well in advance. Simplify Your Ask: Break down the impact of donations into small, relatable amounts. For example, "For just $3 a day, you can sponsor a child on an immersive community service project in Columbia." Showing how a small contribution can make a big difference can help drive donations. By getting everything in place now, you'll be able to maximize your impact on #GivingTuesday and ensure your year-end giving goals are met. Start planning today! #grantwriting #fundraising #nonprofitorganization #fundraisingevent #projectmanagement #SmallBusiness #BusinessDevelopment #nonprofit #nonprofitfunding #NonProfit #NonProfitTips

Want to make December your biggest fundraising month yet? It's time to get creative and go beyond the basics. Here are some fresh ideas to help you think outside the traditional fundraising box: Brainstorm creative and unique fundraising ideas, such as hosting a virtual event, running a social media challenge, or developing an exclusive donor perk. Empower your donors by creating peer-to-peer campaigns. Develop content and assets that let them share your mission with their own networks in order to reach people you never would have come in contact with otherwise. Go digital! For example, set up an interactive virtual giving experience where donors can choose specific impact items they want to fund, like meals for families or program supplies. Remember to make it fun and visually engaging. Creative strategies can inspire new supporters and boost your fundraising efforts. Start thinking outside the box today and make an even larger impact. #fundraising #nonprofit #charity #givingtuesday #december #donate #nonprofitfundraising P.S. I’ve spoken to nonprofit leaders from organizations of all sizes. Big or small, well-established or brand new, so many have the same concerns. “Most people only know about 1 or 2 services we offer, but we do so much more than that.” “No-one really understands how we’re different from other organizations who offer similar services”. “People still think we’re still a small organization, so they give small donations!” “We went from a basement operation to a full-blown organization almost overnight- but our marketing never really caught up.” Why do these problems crop up so frequently? Here are my best guesses: 1. Focused on serving the needs of their community, many organizations operate in crisis mode and don't have any hands to spare to dedicate to marketing. 2. Even if and when they do, marketing is considered an 'overhead expense;' something to be avoided or limited as much as possible...and so it is! 3. Non-profits have, at minimum, two discrete audiences - the people they serve and the donors that support them. Many have a third- the staff and volunteers that help the organization run. This makes communication confusing. 4. Many non-profit leaders find it easy to speak passionately about what they do, but not in a way that clearly conveys their mission. 5. Many organizations only market their fundraising campaigns, limiting their opportunities to develop meaningful connections. Do any of these resonate with you? Which ones? #fundraising #nonprofit #nonprofitmarketing

Yearly fundraising campaigns are so important...but so draining. Is there any way to avoid this? Generally, non-profits have two types of needs: a large fundraising campaign or a promotional "about us" type of video. Most non-profits will approach me prior to their campaign with a specific concept in mind, ready to use a video to really highlight that cause. I'm so glad that they see the value of video in a campaign, but there's an even more effective way to approach this. Ongoing high-quality content. By creating ongoing content, you have a treasure trove of stories to select from, more material to work with, and a more engaged audience ready to give. It’s not just about that one big push. It’s about consistent, compelling storytelling that keeps your audience connected to your mission all year round. To illustrate this, I'll share an example: I partnered with a non-profit client a few years ago and we didn't just create one video. Instead, we developed a series of content that was released in the months leading up to their campaign. This strategy allowed us to circulate different stories that showcased the organization's impact, keeping their audience engaged and emotionally invested. When the campaign finally launched, the audience was primed and ready to donate. The result? They exceeded their fundraising goal by 117%! Let’s make fundraising less stressful and more impactful. 🌟 #NonprofitFundraising #VideoMarketing #Storytelling #ContentCreation #NonprofitMarketing

Charity: “Thank you so much for your generous donation” Donor: “You’re welcome, but I don’t want to waste my donation on overhead” When it comes to donating to non-profits, we want ‘our money’ to go directly to the beneficiaries, not a marketing firm! But, why not? 👉 We don’t want to support a self-perpetuating marketing campaign. Mustn’t a charity do outreach just like commercial companies in order to spread the word? How do we reconcile this? 🗓 Executive directors must show donors how marketing spending is benefiting the org. Demonstrate how much impact you are having because of your marketing efforts. --------------------- 📌 I help teams work better together. #leadership #collaboration
