Get your weed under control this season! It is important to note that soybeans have limited capacity to compete with weeds, depriving them of moisture, nutrients and ultimately growth. The right move would be to make sure that you implement either mechanical or chemical weed control. Both practices must be handled according to strict guidelines. For mechanical weed control, a rotary hoe is effective while cultivation between rows should be handled carefully. If you prefer chemical weed control, make sure to look at soil type and moisture before application. Weed Suppression: Did you know that intercropping maize, beans, and squash can help suppress weeds naturally, as the different plant heights and growth habits create a dense canopy that shades out unwanted vegetation. This reduces the need for herbicides and manual weeding, leading to a healthier ecosystem. Tip: Practice proper crop spacing and timing to optimize weed suppression effects, ensuring that the intercropped plants can effectively outcompete unwanted weeds.

📣 Cool season sod owners: listen up! Mid-September through mid-October is a perfect time apply pre-emergent herbicides to your cool season sods to kill winter weeds before they germinate. So block off some time in your lawn care routine for this beneficial step. *CAUTION: If you are planning to overseed your lawn, do not apply pre-emergents to the grass. Pre-emergents will inhibit seed from germinating.

Make sure to manage your weed growth this season! It's important to understand that soybeans have limited ability to compete with weeds, which can rob them of moisture, and nutrients, and hinder their growth. To effectively control weeds, consider using either mechanical or chemical methods. Both approaches should be executed following strict guidelines. A rotary hoe is an efficient tool for mechanical weed control, and row cultivation should be conducted carefully. If you opt for chemical weed control, assess the soil type and moisture before applying any products. ⚠️Demonstration of Graft incompatibility of the rootstock and the scion, mainly due to the size(diameter) difference between the two cultivars. Early defoliation, slow vegetative growth, shoot die-back, and overgrowth of either the scion or the stock are some of the common symptoms of incompatibility. It can be overcome by use of compatible rootstocks, virus-free planting material, correct grafting techniques, double working, monitoring, and time of grafting.

The Grass is Greener 🐛🪲 As we head into the growing season, it's important to prioritize turf management practices to ensure a healthy and thriving lawn. Two critical aspects of turf care are weed control and fertilization. Weeds compete with desirable grass species for moisture, light, and nutrients, disrupting turf uniformity. Effective weed management involves identifying weeds and understanding their life cycles to develop a good cultural program and select appropriate herbicides. Fertilization is crucial for improving poor-quality turf or maintaining good-quality turf. Grass plants often require additional nutrients, such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which can be determined through soil testing. #lawncare #fertilizers #herbicides #turfprograms

Chikara® is a long-lasting total weed killer. When used at the correct rates, it will control most annual and perennial weeds for up to five months, depending on the rate. Following application, Chikara Weed Control chemically binds to clay soil particles but does not inhibit seed germination. When plant roots and shoots emerge, the seed absorbs the active ingredient from the surrounding soil. As a result, many affected weed seedlings may never emerge above soil level, but those that do will exhibit yellowing or reddening of the leaves, becoming necrotic and dying rapidly. https://lnkd.in/g8Pwep2u. #landscaping #weeds #weedcontrol #gardendesign
