I help teams impacted by organisational change work better together and thrive.   I work with leadership teams to support them during change and manage challenges that are external and internal to the team.   💡 Organisational change It’s natural for many people to appraise change at work as a threat. However, it is inevitable, given the influence of external events, advances in technology and competition on a global stage. Organisations need to adapt swiftly and regularly to remain relevant and ahead of the competition. Organisational re-structuring or mergers and acquisitions can change how a team operates. Change programmes are long and exhausting and change management initiatives often only go as far as supporting people to adopt the mechanics of the new organisation: new technology, new processes etc. Or completely different company cultures are brought together but change initiatives don’t go far enough to build and sustain new working relationships to drive performance.   ⚡The upshot? Lower performance, more people leaving and reduced wellbeing⚡   💡 Using psychology to improve team performance The piece of the jigsaw that’s missing is tackling the psychological and relational side of change.   My programmes bring teams impacted by change together to pause and reflect, re-define their purpose and get to know one another’s strengths and personalities so that they can see change as an opportunity (rather than a threat) to perform better.   I can also see beyond the team. Empathy and patience are essential when addressing it. Transparent Communication: Provide clear information to your team about the reasons for change, benefits, and implementation plans. Address concerns and offer updates to build trust and reduce fear. Employee Involvement: Actively involve your team in the change process. Encourage participation and feedback to give them a sense of control and value. Training and Support: Offer resources to help your team adapt to new changes. Training programs build confidence and reduce anxiety. Incremental Implementation: Break down changes into manageable steps. This allows everyone to adjust at a comfortable pace, making the transition smoother. Recognition and Rewards: Acknowledge and reward your change agents and the team who embrace change. Recognition programs motivate others to adopt new practices. Remember, understanding the underlying reasons for resistance and addressing them proactively can foster a more adaptive and resilient organization. 😊
