What are the sensations or experiential clues that indicate we're in the right place or following the right trail? Reading more and experiencing language through other voices helped me figure out how to feel. Voices that are unvarnished, unrestrained, and unapologetic resonate with truth. The clarity of authenticity powers the poetry and prose of Langston Hughes, whose voice guides us to navigate complicated worldly systems with simplicity of faith. 📚✨ Discover the Timeless Genius of Byron – Now in a Portable Edition! ✨📚 Byron, the iconic poet whose fame rivals even Shakespeare, is a name that resonates through the centuries. Yet despite his astonishing influence in the early 19th century—known for his libertinism, revolutionary spirit, and unforgettable characters—there has never been a truly accessible “portable Byron” until now. This new volume aims to rescue Byron for today’s readers by offering a thematic selection of his poetry and prose, showcasing the essence of his works without overwhelming with completeness. Rather than focusing on Byron "the man" or "the artist," this edition presents Byron the commentator—a liberal, anti-colonial aristocrat with republican leanings, deeply invested in the revolutionary movements of his time. 🌍✊ Byron’s works explore everything from the melancholy of exile and the intricacies of love, to the fight for liberty and the sharp critique of social hypocrisy (what he called “cant”). His powerful voice, blending Romanticism and satire, draws on the 18th-century traditions of Pope, Swift, and Sheridan, while speaking to the very issues that shaped the early 19th century. Whether you're new to Byron or a long-time admirer, this volume offers a curated glimpse into the mind of a poet who wasn’t afraid to defend the undefended and challenge the status quo. Dive into Byron’s world, a world filled with passion, rebellion, and timeless reflections on society and the human spirit. ✍️💥 Available at our distributor Independent Publishers Group Ask for a desk copy today! #Byron #Romantic #Poetry #literature #classics #anthology #greece #england #readUP #university #students

***Couplet added to “The Longest Poem” curated by the Palestinian poet, Mosab Abu Toha, published in Poets & Writers, Inc.***** I’m honored to share the news that a #couplet of mine has been accepted to be part of #TheLongestPoem curated by Mosab Abu Toha and has been published at PW.org *******Couplet added : The Sky of Gaza once filled with blue kindness, is now a graveyard of unclaimed dreams with the names of those you do not know, with a face you don’t bother to recall. In the recent “The Definition of Poetry” interview, Birdsong asks the poet what writers, particularly non-Palestinian writers, can do to respond to what is happening. He replies: “What I’m thinking right now as I’m answering your question is that anyone who calls themselves a true poet should think of collaborating with other poets in their community and work on writing the longest poem in history. … Each poet could contribute two lines based on a picture or a feeling they had watching and witnessing what has happened in the past [year]. They don’t have to sign their names, and it could be anyone who wants to write poetry because poetry is not about poets. It’s about everyone who can express something. … It’s not enough to witness. It’s also good—it’s important, it’s imperative—to take a stance by writing what you see.” Poetry is personal, Poetry is political Megha Sood You can read the ongoing poem and the list of contributors here : https://lnkd.in/eetpDNqd

In Ecopoetic Place-Making, Judith Rauscher analyzes the works of five contemporary American poets of migration, drawing from ecocriticism and mobility studies. The poets discussed in her study challenge exclusionary notions of place-attachment and engage in ecopoetic place-making from different perspectives of mobility, testifying to the potential of poetry as a means of conceptualizing alternative environmental imaginaries for our contemporary world on the move. https://amzn.to/4eEDBmj

Emily Dickinson constantly sent letters to friends, family, and lovers. There are more than 1,300 letters featured in “The Letters of Emily Dickinson,” a new, definitive edition that collects, reorders, and freshly annotates every surviving letter that Dickinson sent (or drafted) to someone else, along with the handful of surviving messages that she received.
