We are pleased to announce the release of an updated Report from the Standards Committee.  ➡️ IOGP Report 679 - Specification for validation of API Std 6ACRA and API Spec 5CRA/ISO 13680:2024 for use in hydrogen charging environments Age-hardened nickel alloys, such as UNS N09925 and UNS N07718, are critical in oil and gas equipment for their high strength and corrosion resistance. However, the industry has faced hydrogen-induced stress cracking (HISC) failures, especially with newer alloys and larger forged materials. This publication addresses the need for standardized HISC qualification across a wider range of alloys by categorizing them based on HISC resistance and establishing qualification criteria. It offers guidance for safely deploying these materials in hydrogen-charging environments, mitigating failure risks.
