Your response thoughtfully highlights the critical issues surrounding gendered ageism and the systemic barriers it creates in healthcare leadership and workplaces. I agree that recognizing the contributions of older individuals, especially women, is essential for fostering inclusivity and innovation. The emphasis on intersectionality is particularly important, as it acknowledges the compounded challenges individuals face at the intersection of age, gender, and race. Your call for organizational policies addressing ageism and menopause-related challenges is also practical and necessary. Supporting aging employees helps individuals thrive and leverages their wisdom and emotional stability to benefit teams and organizations. Embracing diverse leadership perspectives is indeed vital to creating a balanced and equitable future for all demographics. Your response effectively shows how important it is to address these issues for the betterment of society and the workforce. As someone who has faced ageism bias, I applaud this article!

As a 40-year-old woman who values diversity, I've witnessed the biases older women face at work. Just last night, a good friend of mine discussed being concerned about being let go, or her position being eliminated. She’s just 3 years from retirement. I felt so bad for her. She shouldn’t be worried about this in her final years of employement. Her wealth of knowledge and experience is extremely valuable.

As a 23-year-old professional, this is an interesting perspective. In my profession, unfortunately I have been spoken down on and ignored strictly due to my age. I would have enjoyed to see both sides of the ageism spectrum included. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting and accurate!

As a 35-year old black woman who just received her bachelors in healthcare administration, age is one of my biggest concerns. I always think to myself, am I too old to get recognized for my education and experience?

Very interesting. I have seen this in my 35+ years in healthcare.
