International Men’s Day is a reminder to question the expectations placed on men and create space for their emotional well-being. Here are some overlooked aspects that men's face at work: - Express Emotions: Many men still hesitate to express stress or anxiety due to societal expectations. - Fatherhood Stigma: Working dads often face bias when they request flexible schedules or parental leave. - Mental health support: While mental health struggles affect everyone, men are less likely to seek help. How can workplaces do better? 1️⃣ Normalize mental health conversations by sharing stories and creating safe spaces for all employees. 2️⃣ Offer parental leave and flexibility for working dads and caregivers. 3️⃣ Recognize efforts beyond work—like mentoring, volunteering, or supporting community initiatives. What stereotype about men do you think needs to go away in the workplace? #InternationalMensDay #MentalHealth #MenAndWellness #DEI

Employers often focus on creating a supportive environment for our workforce, but there’s another aspect of well-being that deserves attention: children’s mental health. Why should this matter? Because employees' family’s matter. When a parent is worried about their child's emotional well-being, it affects their productivity, focus, and overall job satisfaction. Supporting children’s mental health is not just a societal responsibility; it’s a business imperative. 📈 Here’s how employers can make a difference: 🌟 Flexible Work Policies: Offering flexibility for parents to attend mental health appointments or manage family stress shows understanding and support. 🌟 Family-Friendly Benefits: Providing mental health resources and counselling services that include family members can significantly reduce stress for working parents. 🌟 Promote Work-Life Balance: Encourage employees to prioritise family time, ensuring they have the space to care for their children’s emotional needs without guilt. 🌟 Mental Health Education: Organise workshops or provide resources that help employees identify signs of mental health challenges in their children and how to seek help. When employers invest in the well-being of our employees and their families, we create a healthier, more engaged workforce. Supporting children’s mental health isn’t just a personal issue — it’s a business issue, and it’s one we can address together. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #ChildrensMentalHealth #EmployeeWellBeing #FamilyFriendlyWorkplace #WorkplaceWellness #SupportiveEmployers Roy Magara Yemi Magara CEnvH Magara Law Ruth Neil Millenium Gamma Abiola O.

👶🏼 Did you know today is Parental Mental Health Day? Balancing the demands of a career with the responsibilities of raising a family is no small feat, and the challenges of modern parenting are impacting wellbeing like never before. ⛑️ In August 2024, US Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy released an advisory declaring parental mental health an urgent public health issue. The report found: 👩👦 48% of parents say that most days their stress is completely overwhelming - compared to 26% among other adults. 👪 Two-fifths of parents report being 'so stressed they feel numb.' 📈 Closer to home, The BACP annual survey of therapists who work with parents has found 59% have seen increases in parents seeking therapy because they're struggling to cope. 👉🏼 Find out how you can support your #workingparents here:

#Mental #health for #WorkingMothers: A Personal Challenge On World Mental Health Day, I want to share a reality that many of us quietly face. As a full-time worker, a mother, and someone adjusting to a new country, culture, and language, the strain on mental health can be overwhelming. Balancing career demands with motherhood can be exhausting, and when you’re far from familiar support, it’s even tougher. For mothers, the pressure to be perfect at home and at work often leads to stress and burnout. This is where companies, managers, and even co-workers can make all the difference. A culture of empathy, flexibility, and support from everyone creates a workplace where women feel valued, not judged. This World Mental Health Day, let’s focus on how we can all contribute to supporting working mothers. Prioritizing our mental health isn’t a luxury; it’s essential for us all.
