November is Military and Veteran Family Month Our military families make sacrifices, too! https://lnkd.in/gk-CG2X9 While the sacrifices made and hardships endured by our service members are well-documented, a related aspect that many people may not think about as often are the sacrifices made and hardships endured by military families as well. Maintaining a family in the civilian world is challenging enough, and military families may also face additional, unique challenges, such as frequent moves from base to base, having a loved one deployed for months on end, or dealing with long-term physical and/or emotional wounds, that can make the task of maintaining a family seem almost overwhelming. Recent changes to military moving service standards are raising serious concerns for military families. Under the new regulations, companies like U-Haul and various movers from Craigslist and Facebook are classified as official military movers. This shift has excluded reputable moving firms—80% of the industry currently serving military personnel— have been informed that their Independent Contractor business models do not align with HomeNOTsafe. USTC and HSA's decisions to replace 80% of current qualified movers with inferior providers willing to operate for minimal profit. By significantly lowering entry requirements for the HomeNOTsafe system, USTC has allowed the least competent bottom 20% of the industry to participate without oversight. As a result, military families can no longer choose their moving service providers and are exposed to companies that fail to meet quality standards. Notably, Tier One Relocations, with a low 1.7 Google rating, and KBR are now managing the GHC contract through HomeNOTsafe. Military families should be cautious of anyone claiming to be an official military mover, as this designation has lost its value due to lowered standards.
🚛 Proud to be an official military mover! Here’s a glimpse of our new truck, wrapped and ready to serve those who serve us. We’re honored to support our military families with reliable, compassionate moving services. Thank you for your service! 💪❤️

DO YOU KNOW the difference between certain patriotic holidays? For example, what is the difference between Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Armed Forces Day? These three holidays should not be confused. Memorial Day is a federal holiday that remembers and mourns people who have died in U.S. military service. Veterans Day, also a federal holiday, honors the service of all U.S. military veterans, both living and deceased. Armed Forces Day, meanwhile, celebrates everyone currently serving in the U.S. armed forces. Unlike Memorial Day and Veterans Day, Armed Forces Day is not an official federal holiday. #Wagnerrealty #armedforcesday2024 #militaryservice #armedforces

The Life of a Military Brat: Resilience and Self-Sufficiency Growing up as a military brat comes with its unique set of challenges and experiences. The term "military brat" is a badge of honor among the children of military personnel, symbolizing the unique culture and community they share. These children often move frequently, attend multiple schools, and face long periods of separation from their deployed parents. It's a lifestyle that shapes them in profound ways. One of the most significant aspects of being a military brat is the development of resilience. The constant changes and uncertainties teach these children to adapt quickly to new situations, be it a new school, new friends, or a new home. They learn to cope with the absence of a parent, which, while painful, instills in them a level of independence and strength that serves them well into adulthood. Self-sufficiency is another trait that military brats often develop early on. With one parent frequently away on deployment and the other managing the household, these children learn to take on responsibilities beyond their years. They become adept at problem-solving, often taking care of younger siblings, and contributing to the household in meaningful ways. Despite the hardships, there are also positive aspects to this lifestyle. Military brats are exposed to diverse cultures and people, which can foster a sense of open-mindedness and acceptance. They often have a strong sense of community, as military families tend to form close bonds, supporting each other through the ups and downs of military life. The experience of growing up in a military family is unique and shapes individuals in lasting ways. The resilience and self-sufficiency developed through this lifestyle are invaluable traits that help these individuals navigate the complexities of life with confidence. While the challenges are real, so too is the strength and camaraderie that come from being part of the military community. It's a life that forges individuals who are ready to face the world head-on, with a spirit of perseverance and a heart full of courage. I am proud to be a member of this tribe!
