Worldwide Day of Giving Today is the Worldwide Day of Giving, and we wanted to highlight a few giving strategies that can make a big impact on your taxes and in your community. ⌛ Donating your time is a great way to get involved, and can help teach your children the importance of giving back. 📊 Donor Advised Funds are a tax-efficient account that are maintained and operated by a section 501(c)(3). 📃 Charitable Trusts offer financial advantages for philanthropically minded individuals with nonessential assets, such as stocks or real estate. ❤️ Allows individuals to donate to charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions. #charitablegiving

Hello everyone, If you're kind-hearted and willing to support a charitable organization providing food to those in need, I'm sharing a link where you can contribute whatever amount you can spare. The cost of a food package for one family is 150,000 UZS, but what truly matters is your participation in helping others. You can donate any amount, starting from the minimum, and every contribution counts! Link for the transfers - https://t.me/Barakatuzbot Instagram profile URL - https://lnkd.in/dbjmxZKB P.S. I could only use Uzum for transfers, just in case!" (Note: Uzum refers to a specific payment or transfer platform in this context.)

December is the most popular month for opening Donor Advised Funds (DAF), and it’s easy to see why when considering the advantages of a DAF over a Private Foundation. Here are some key benefits: 1. **No Annual Minimum Distribution Requirement**: Unlike private foundations, which are required to distribute at least 5% of their assets each year per IRS rules, Donor Advised Funds don’t have this mandatory payout. This allows for more flexibility in how you manage your charitable giving. 2. **Tax Advantages**: You can donate cash and appreciated securities to a DAF and avoid paying capital gains on the donation, which maximizes the value of your contribution. 3. **Flexibility in Contributions and Distributions**: With a DAF, you can contribute funds on your timeline and take your time deciding which causes and charities to support, providing you with greater involvement in your giving strategy. For more information or to explore how you can open a Donor Advised Fund with the Coral Gables Community Foundation, please contact our President and CEO, Mary Snow, at Mary@GablesFoundation.org. #CharitableGiving #DonorAdvisedFund #DAF #CGCF #CoralGablesCommunityFoundation #Philanthropy

The recently published The Sunday Times Giving List reveals that the top 100 philanthropists contributed £3.2 billion in 2023. Although this figure is down 6% from last year's £3.4bn, it's important to contextualise these numbers: ⭐ Celebrating generosity: On average, each individual or family on the list donated £32 million last year. This sets a powerful example and can inspire others with significant wealth to give more. ⭐ Understanding giving behaviors: Increasing research in the philanthropy sector highlights that many wealthy donors often give early during crises, leveraging their resources swiftly when governments and foundations may be more cautious. The cost of living crisis and the Ukraine crisis in 2022 spurred significant donations, showcasing the responsiveness of major donors. ⭐ Strategic philanthropy: Donating large sums is complex, especially in uncertain times. Wealth holders are strategic, ensuring their contributions align with causes they care about, which may require adjusting strategies or providing sustaining donations over extended periods. Given these factors, a 6% drop in giving among the wealthiest is relatively modest and likely supplemented by funding from other sources that respond more gradually. Significantly, The UK Giving Report from Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) reported an increase of £1.2 billion in donations from the wider UK population in 2023, underscoring the collective power of philanthropy. Let's continue to celebrate and encourage all donations, big and small, across our communities. #Philanthropy https://lnkd.in/e2Ai2hHq

It's been almost 10 years since I took the 10% Pledge with Giving What We Can What is it? A public commitment to donate 10% of your income to effective charities for the rest of one's life. Why did I do it? I am privileged in many ways and donating 10% of my income will make a huge difference to 1000s of people, with little impact on my day-to-day living. Feels like a no-brainer! How does it feel? Although I didn't do it for selfish reasons, donating 10% of my income has given me sense of pride and achievement. No matter what else I do with my life, I have donated ten's of thousands of pounds to charities that are considered some of the most effective in the world. I am not saying this to boast - I really am privileged in many ways (e.g. having frugal mindset) so taking the pledge was not as hard for me as I imagine it is for most people. If you are curious, feel free to ask questions, or, just check out their website.

International Charity Day is observed annually on September 5th. It was established by the United Nations in 2012 to raise awareness about the importance of charitable activities in addressing poverty, and the world's humanitarian crises. The day serves as a global reminder of the role that charity plays in fostering social and cultural solidarity and encourages individuals, communities, and organizations to support philanthropic causes. International Charity Day is a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility to uplift those in need and to contribute toward building a more equitable, compassionate world. It also emphasizes how every individual has the potential to make a positive impact through charitable actions. Ways to Get Involved: - Donate: Consider making a donation to a charity that supports causes you care about, whether local, national, or international. Even small contributions can make a difference. - Raise Awareness: Use social media or community platforms to spread the message of International Charity Day. Share stories, data, and resources to inspire others to get involved. Do you know how many types of non-profits are in USA and what types of non-profits accept contributions? 1wAmerican Jesuits International (AJI) supports wonderful, transformational schools throughout the world. Some of those strong schools are serving kids who only by their geography would not otherwise receive the robust education they deserve. No surprise that Jesuits (worldwide educators for 500 years) would be the schools’ innovators and implementers serving those at the margins—-where highways end and dirt roads begin. Thank you in advance for your prayers and your support!!
