The recent decision to pause new American liquefied natural gas (LNG) permits is shortsighted and could have serious consequences. U.S. #LNG helps strengthen our international relationships, reduce emissions, and support American jobs and economic development. LNG APPROVAL RELIEF ON THE WAY U.S. LNG Developers See Trump Win Lifting Pall Over Expansions - Read More: https://hubs.la/Q02Xw5pS0 U.S. liquefied natural gas developers awaiting permits for new export projects this week expressed confidence President-elect Donald Trump will ease the way for their multi-billion-dollar expansion plans. Their confidence is buoyed by Trump’s promise to end an expanded Department of Energy review that has slowed new export permits. President Joe Biden had paused new non-FTA export permits and asked the DOE to more broadly evaluate the cumulative effects of new LNG projects’ climate and economic impacts. #lng #oilgas #naturalgas #oilandgascompanies

Countries are racing to secure access to the booming supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) that has upended the traditional natural gas market. Providing flexibility and security that traditional pipelines lack, American natural gas companies are pouring tens of billions of dollars into building export capacity as they vie to become the dominant supplier of LNG to the world. via Maxinomics.

🇺🇸 🚨 Following FERC Notices, U.S. Department of Energy Provides Clarity to Status of LNG Export Authorization Requests Over the past several months, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has received questions regarding the status of various applications to export LNG to non-FTA countries and recently, in particular, about the status of the Venture Global LNG CP2 LNG and Commonwealth LNG applications. This statement responds to those questions. Relying on DOE policy and consistent with precedent during the Obama, Trump, and Biden Administrations for the program that governs export of domestically-sourced natural gas as LNG to non-FTA countries, DOE cannot complete its review of these two applications—CP2 and Commonwealth – until after FERC’s completion of the environmental reviews and issuance of final merits orders. With 2025 looking to restart the LNG export growth, it was great to see one of these ships moving this clean-burning energy through the Panama Canal. LNG exports from the US are destined for Japan, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Each of these markets has different needs and requirements. The EU will be imposing requirements for documentation related to the measurement, monitoring, reporting, and verification (MMRV) of emissions associated with the production of natural gas imports. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management | U.S. Department of Energy are working to align current practices in the US to meet the reporting requirements in the EU. One molecule of CH4 is not equal across the world and maybe Colorado can capitalize on this. Colorado produces natural gas and oil efficiently in one of the most regulated markets. https://lnkd.in/gWckARPx
