🚀 New Research Update: Enhancing Weld Quality with Vibration-Assisted Welding 🔧⚙️ I'm excited to share our latest research on the application of low-frequency vibration-assisted welding (V-AW) for optimizing process parameters and improving the mechanical properties of welded joints. 🌟 In this study, we employed a novel vibratory technique during Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) to enhance the hardness of butt-welded mild steel plates (5 mm thickness). Key highlights include: 🔹 Vibration Frequency Range: 0 to 100 Hz 🔹 Optimized Parameters: Low heat input (80A), vibration frequency (100 Hz), and vibration duration (100 seconds) 🔹 Analysis Tools: SEM, optical micrographs, and XRD to examine microstructure 🔹 Results: Achieved a maximum hardness of 97.1643 RHN Observed a refined grain structure in vibration-assisted welds, resulting in superior mechanical properties Identified vibration frequency as the most influential parameter for hardness We utilized the Taguchi Methodology to optimize parameters, confirming that vibration-assisted techniques significantly enhance weld quality.
