True marital bliss arises from shared responsibilities and mutual appreciation. While relationships like parent-child bonds or friendships are celebrated, the bond between spouses can flourish when both partners actively contribute. Unfortunately, many still adhere to traditional gender roles, burdening husbands with financial and major operational responsibilities while seeking equality in other areas. This imbalance risks marital discord and separation. Globalization has eroded traditional Indian values, fostering a superficial pursuit of materialism. This leaves little time for meaningful connections with family and community. We must counter this trend by promoting discussions and content that champion equitable partnerships and cultural preservation. Let's strive for a society where genuine happiness and strong relationships thrive.

We should throw out the regressive cultural baggage and widespread Indian social and cultural mindset that women should give up an independent career after marriage. It does not belong in today’s world. Parents must bring up their daughters to pursue a career in no different manner than they do for their sons. Their daughters should reject men who prefer to marry a woman who would put his career ahead of hers - just as their sons would if it was the other way around. They must recognise that marrying into families that think that way is not good. If your new husband (or boyfriend) wants you to give up your career, dump him. And find another mate who is better. We need a new social movement that changes this cultural baggage. A new slogan to adopt (just like the one we had for less children: “Hum do hamaare do”). “Beti padhao, beti bachao” is too weak and defensive - plus it has a patriarchal tone.
