"Cold calling is a waste of time; our new sales hires won't do it." I got a TON of hate for this ^ BACKROUND Last week, I announced we are hiring BDRs. I mentioned they won't need to cold call because I believe it's a waste of time. This sparked a lot of controversy here. So, let’s put it to the test... I'm hiring 3 new sales reps for my team. My phone number is all over the internet (Apollo, zoom info...etc). It's also on my profile page. Crazy, I know. If you can somehow get my attention (anywhere you can find me, LinkedIn message, cold-call, text, email..etc). I'll hire the best one. In three months, I'll post the results here on how they did. My phone will be on all day for cold pitches - I'll record the best few. Let's see if cold calling still works...

Hiring SDRs into an AE role. If you've got an SMB or potentially even a Mid-Market segment. You're missing a trick by not tapping into the SDR market. Why? -  Your talent pool massively opens up -  They will have the work ethic to prove themselves -  They already know the hardest part... Prospecting -  You can have the very best (Because they want the opportunity) -  Budget shouldn't be an issue (If it is, you have other problems) I've worked with companies who've done it and seen it work time and time again. You just need to work on how you screen and qualify the pipeline.

Does anybody knows any strategy/method to land a SAAS Sales role with a US Based company when you're not based in the US? Almost Every company is saying we're flexible but when it comes to hiring for sales roles, they're only hiring Remote(US) and when it comes to the social media platforms there is no filter that you can use to find roles with the US Companies when you're not based in the US.

I was an AE for a SaaS company at 23. I earn’t over £250k in 12 months. Sales was much harder then. And the value of the £ was stronger! It wasn't a career people were actively chasing. New business wasn’t the same as it is in 2024: We didn’t have automation tools. We didn’t have data enrichment. LinkedIn wasn’t what it was today, not many people were using it. Cadences didn’t exist. Marketing and sales didn’t really communicate and worked in silos. Prospecting was all manual. It wasn't sexy. Here’s how I hit my target: - Had a great relationship with my SDR, we spent a lot of time together - Was religious about calling prospects that previous sales people had worked - Built a backwards sales plan - Did high levels of activity - Built excellent realtionships with prospects - Went to see prospects in person - Always asked lots of questions, was naturally curious - Worked bloody hard... With all the great tech available to us now I'm a big believer that sales is easy if you do the basics well! #sales

For a company like us, offering dedicated SDRs, Hiring triggers would be ideal, right? In reality, it wasn’t as straightforward Most weren’t interested in, and based on the feedback: - They’re hiring SDRs on-site. - Already have an exact strategy in place for the SDR - New office, different location, doesn’t make sense to outsource Given these points Long story short, for us hiring triggers never worked.
