Black Friday isn't just for retailers. It's a PR goldmine for ANY business. Here's how I helped a client stand out last year: 1. Created a "Gratitude Campaign" 2. Offered pro bono services to a local charity 3. Launched a limited-time "PR Makeover" package Result? 3x media mentions and a 40% boost in December sales. The secret? Aligning with the spirit of giving. How are you leveraging Black Friday for your brand story? Share your creative ideas below! 👇 #BlackFridayPR #BrandStorytelling

Profit Over Impact For many businesses, Black Friday is all about maximizing profit - a chance to sell as much as possible in a single day. But for us, this time of year presents a unique opportunity to shift the narrative and focus on something bigger. Our focus on impact over profit has always set us apart from most other companies, and this year, for Black Friday, we want to double down on this. Interestingly, many companies make ⅓ of their annual revenue in the six weeks beginning on Black Friday. You already know—and it’s written in our manifesto—that we always prioritize impact over profit. This Black Friday is no different. Instead of focusing on sales and revenue, we’re staying true to our mission by making every purchase count, not just for you, but for the planet. Instead of going all-in on discounts or doing nothing, we’re giving you half of one - $30 off until December 3rd. But here’s the twist: we’re matching every monitor purchased with this Black Friday discount by donating $30 to an NGO that can make a real difference. The NGO will be vetted by 1% for the Planet to ensure transparency. We don't want Black Friday to be about profit. Rather, it’s about making an impact, and together, we can donate to an NGO in need. We will publish in December the amount of monitors purchased in that period and the NGOs we will support with the donations. The discount code 7XHTD0HVFD2B is valid from today until December 3rd and applies to full-assembled monitors only. You can use the code when doing the checkout in our online shop. #RethinkingBlackFriday #AirGradient #ConsciousChoices #ImpactOverProfit #BlackFridayWithPurpose

Black Friday is rarely the cheapest time to shop and Corporations and Big Business don’t really need more of our money. We also know happiness doesn’t rise in line with acquiring material possessions and just adds more trash to landfills when we should care more about the environment. There’s so much pressure on household finances what with the current cost of living crisis, and many small meaningful independent businesses, who offer individual unique crafted and not mass produced goods, are really struggling due to higher costs, goods shortages, supply, and staffing issues. Buying what we really need if it’s a genuine bargain or hand crafted gifts for Xmas is great, and if skint we can still offer small businesses our support including artists, creatives, charities, community groups, food, warm and baby banks. And of course if we are skint it costs nothing by tagging, sharing, liking, reposting, commenting, reviewing, and sharing on Social Media. #blackfriday #anticapitalism #anticorporations #supportsmallbusinesses #supportindependentbusinesses #supportartists #supportcreatives #supportcharities #supportcommunitygroups #supportfoodbanks

As the country dives into Black Friday deals this weekend, nonprofits have a unique opportunity to consider a different kind of value. While consumers measure value in discounts, nonprofits measure it in impact. This season is a reminder that every dollar has a purpose. Whether it’s stretching a tight budget, maximizing program reach, or engaging donors, nonprofits must be as intentional with resources as shoppers are with their wallets today. What if we approached year-end planning with the same urgency and focus as Black Friday shopping? Strategic decisions now can lead to meaningful impact later. #nonprofit #blackfriday

Change Black Friday in 'Think Twice before you buy- Friday'! In two weeks, it happens again. Black Friday—the day when “buy more” is the message heard ‘round the world. But is that really the story we want to tell? Do we want to support the Shopocalypse? I know a lot of entrepreneurs (trainers, coaches, facilitators, speakers) in my network who believe in purpose and impact, this day can be a chance to try something different. Instead of feeding the frenzy of mass consumption, what if we used Black Friday to stand out in a creative, positive way? Here are a few ideas to turn Black Friday into a day of giving, meaning, and impact: + Donate Profits to a Cause – Choose a charity that aligns with your values and donate a percentage—or even all—of your profits. + Give Something for Free... with a Twist – Instead of discounts, offer something for free when customers donate to a cause. It could be a resource, service, or even advice—just something that shows you’re here to add value, not just drive sales. + Double your fee for Commercial Clients on that day – Encourage reflection by charging commercial clients double, with the extra going to charity. It’s a bold move that sends a clear message: sometimes, it’s worth investing more for the right reasons. Please think twice before you go along in Mass-Consumption Marathon. Nothing wrong with earning money but do you really want to support more consumerism? #MakeConsciousDecision #BeCreative

I have been cold messaged, emailed and called a lot lately by businesses claiming to be able to market our business better and generate leads. I respect that is how some do business and they may find that successful. However, for myself, Philly and our business - that is not us at all. We don’t ever do anything COLD. Our clients come to us, ask to be a client and send us their whānau and friends. They come to us because of our social media channels, our brand and our personal approach. We share so much of ourselves online with our community, people get to know us and then feel safe with us. The clients we have are our people and we are theirs. We don’t generally get anyone that doesn’t belong with us and when we do we point them to the right person for them. We talk the talk and walk the walk of doing right by our clients, we don’t see them as $$. Something else to note is that we don’t run ads, we often partner with likeminded women and we invest back into our community with donations, community events and knowledge sharing. No one can market our business and brand better than we can and I do it for R&P every single day. It’s easy when you know and live your values. We don’t nominate ourselves for awards and wouldn’t accept any that are solely linked to sales. What I’m trying to say is, if you approach myself or R&P wanting to collab/partner/work with us please understand us, we are different and proudly so and we make decisions that are for the benefit of our entire community not for ourselves and our pockets - this works incredibly well for us, R&P is a great wee business and continues to grow and thrive. #smallbusiness #womeninfinance #coldcalling

Want to take advantage of the energy around Black Friday without the over-consumption? Here are some ideas: - Highlight small businesses on social to uplift your community and discourage overconsumption. - Donate a percentage of profits to social causes instead of offering discounts. - Skip Black Friday entirely and create your own spin (e.g., Green Friday or Do Good Friday). - Promote conscious consumption while offering discounts—tie your values into your campaign.

Helping local creatives and small business owners with their social media challenges for charity has been very rewarding 🫶🏻 Last week we had a full Social Media Clinic, advising small business owners on their social media channels, giving them the chance to pick our brains on whatever they fancy. Should they start a TikTok account? What can they do to increase engagement? How should they advertise for an upcoming event? How do I edit a Reel? We LOVED it! 💙 #socialmediamarketing #socialmedianetwork
