This cracks me up. But a great point. Great companies include your future direct reports and teammates in the interview process. People forget that interviews are a two way street and you both should know what you’re getting into. If you can, leverage your network to connect with someone at the company to make an informed choice. My first job out a school I was taken to lunch by some of my new team. At 11 am on a Monday they were ordering margaritas and Long Island ice teas. Then they told me I’d be lucky if I lasted a week or more. That was my first red flag. One week too late. #jobhunting #careerplanning #layoffsurvival

💥So this was the result of the poll that took place last week💥 It’s an interesting result, I believe both come hand in hand, however myself personally would vote on the active network for hiring, I believe that someone with a clear client base that they are actively working with would come with proof of billings, however we have seen previously, consultants with past billings don’t always have a network behind them they have company name behind them. The foundations of recruitment I teach trainees are relationships and process, the relationships will build your network, your process will monetise your network.
