Alexandrite stone Alexandrite is a remarkable and rare gemstone known for its unique color-changing properties. It was discovered in the Ural Mountains of Russia in the early 19th century and is named after Alexander II, as it was found on his birthday in 1830. Alexandrite's most fascinating feature is its ability to change color depending on the lighting conditions. In daylight or fluorescent light, it appears green to bluish-green, while under incandescent light (such as candlelight or tungsten lighting), it turns purplish-red to reddish-brown. This dramatic color change is due to the presence of chromium within the crystal structure of the gem. Alexandrite is a variety of the mineral chrysoberyl, and its color-changing ability makes it one of the most valuable and sought-after gemstones in the world. Due to its rarity and unique properties, alexandrite is highly prized by gemstone enthusiasts and collectors. It is also considered one of the birthstones for the month of June, alongside pearls and moonstones. #Sapphires #luxury #gemstones #srilanka #ruby #alexandrite #spinel #garnet #tourmaline #emerald #customjewelry 15.89 Carats, Natural Alexandrite Yellowish green changing to orangy brown, cushion cut
