"One of the most exciting things that I have accomplished since I have been in the United State, is the consulting case for my international business class. Through this consulting case, I was able to work for Drexel Hamilton, a veteran-owned investment bank. This group project is a big stepping stone for me as a newcomer in the market, it helps drive me to do more research about the current market as well as the market in other countries, to maximize the work in the group project as well as to achieve many more aspects. I am thankful to have attended the 5th International Investment Conference by The Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) a while back. Some nuggets learnt were:- 1. Long term solutions for Alternative Investments can be shaped by the Investment class. E.g. Pension funds directly building infrastructure projects can provide an upper standard on infrastructure in the economies they are built in. 2. Structure matters on digital assets. Its not only what can be provided but how it is presented to the investment community. 3.Private Equity A culture shift is befitting to make this a more active space, as family businesses look at diversifying ownership through private equity. 4. Tokenization of Real World Assets The practical implementation of tokenization.e.g Blackrock’s BUILD 5. The great contribution women are making in alternative investments via Impact investments. Great insights from Anthony S Mwithiga, MSCI ,Sonia Essobmadje, CFA , Michael Michie , Dr. Peter S. O. We are proud to share that Nuveen, a TIAA company for the fourth year in a row, has been named a Responsible Investment Leader by Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) in its annual study launched recently. This recognizes us as one of the top 20% of investment managers in the RIAA research universe of Australia’s responsible investors, and our commitment to responsible investing and attributes as an investment manager. As an industry partner, we are also thrilled to see the launch of The Responsible Investment Benchmark Report 2024 Australia, revealing a record $1.6 trillion in responsible investment. The report highlights how the industry continues to gain momentum, with the number of responsible investors increasing by 26% and the proportion of responsible investment assets under management (AUM) rising from 36% to 41% of the market in 2023. This growth reflects a powerful shift towards mainstreaming responsible investment across the market. Explore the full report: https://ter.li/9v3xoj

The World of Private Client Portfolio Formation: Perspectives from an Asian Investment Advisory Specialist Martin W. Hennecke is Head of Asia Investment Advisory at St. James's Place Wealth Management in #HongKong. Hubbis met with him recently to learn of his current advice for private investors seeking to navigate the vicissitudes of regional and global markets. He argues carefully and logically for advisors and private clients to be highly discerning, favouring suitability, risk mitigation and diversification over following the herd. He maintains that the near past does not always reflect the near future, but says that taking a balanced, diversified and a longer and more historically inclusive approach to robust portfolio formation are all vital for the typical private client whose future well-being is so often closely linked to their adroitness in investing wisely.
