AMWatch’s Post

Consolidation is making its mark on Sweden’s asset management industry. But investment organization Coeli is sitting on the fence as it has a different way of achieving growth – through partnerships with “extraordinary” investment teams. “The partnership program is about finding super-talented and qualitative investment teams that also have an entrepreneurial spirit of building something of their own, with the support and scale of a large organization empowering their success,” CEO Erik Bäckström tells AMWatch in an interview. Bäckström believes that consolidation is more relevant for “pure fund companies”, while Coeli has a “diversified, broad business” with revenue streams coming in from multiple channels. “When it comes down to that type of consolidation, we are always open for exceptional investment teams to come to Coeli and join the platform. But we don’t see the same need of large consolidation that you have seen with Didner & Gerge and some of the other firms,” he says. #assetmanager #assetmanagement #fundmanager #fundmanagement #investments #bankingindustry #financialmarkets #Nordic #wealthmanagement
